Coca Cola Japan is rolling out a new canned coffee in its Georgia label. The Emerald Mountain Blend Bito uses high-quality Emerald Mountain beans and contains only a dash of sugar. 120 yen for a 190-gram can.

It looks like tasting not-good when I first see the can label. I'll try. It's just 120 yen.

High-quality Emerald Mountain beans. Taste: canned coffee. They're all the same.

Great post! That's the best damn description of canned coffee I've heard.

Coca Cola products found in U.S. vending machines never change from just a hand full of choices and they are all cold. I wonder why hot/cold and new products don't catch on in the U.S. And I have never lost a coin in a Japanese vending machine.

So true, Airion. I don't know why they bother making different kinds, because they all have the exact same fake coffee flavor. It makes me sad. I only buy them if it's a really cold day and I want something to warm my hands with.

There is a slight difference in the taste. The coffee from the UCC and Pokka taste metallic, like the cans they come in.

They all have that terrible packaged taste,I don,t know why there is a market for this coffee...But coca Cola being the great marketers they are, can obviously make you believe that it tastes better than it is...

Whenever I see a new type of canned coffee I'll try it at least once. When I first got here, I wanted to try every kind. But there's too many, and more every day it seems. Still, a warm can on a cold morning waiting for the train, mmmmmmmm.

I miss the convenience of a can of hot Georgia Coffee. It's not the best coffee in the world, but on a cold morning, waiting for the train, it always did the trick.

No, no it is not the fake coffee taste, more like the yummy tin flavor or the bloody can it is in!

Taka, if you are really cold, go for the nice HOT corn pottage! Sure bit of a taste of the can but, I think the sweet Hokkaido corn helps hide the can taste better than any coffee, plus I can not drink coffee, not even in the middle of the day, I will not be able to sleep that night!

When I was climbing Mt. Aso and it began to snow even though it was the first day of spring, putting a bunch of these cans in my jacket pockets really helped keep me warm!!

Just a little "bitou" of sugar.

I was only thinking this morning about how Japan really, really needed a new variety of canned coffee.
