Takara Tomy’s Robo-Q squeezes a lot of power into a tiny package. Standing at a mere 3.4 cm tall, this diminutive robot nevertheless has the smarts to navigate its way around obstacles on your desk, or dribble a ball with its teeny little feet. When it runs low on juice, it can even automatically zoom into the recharging dock housed in the remote controller. Neat.
Better yet, you can use said controller to pit your plucky ’bot against up to three other players in a game of cyborg soccer. If they’d had toys like this when we were young, we never would’ve learned to read.
3,675 yen each. Available from all good toy stores. (Metropolis)
