At first I thought, finally something healthy. But using 100% juice doesn't mean the drink as a whole is 100% juice.

I thought 140 yen for 500 ml of 100% juice was cheap until I read paulinusa's comment.

DenTok2009: It could be 100% juice but only 1-5% of the ingredients(the rest water/sugar etc.). That's why everyone should read labels carefully.

The bottom of the bottle reads "10% juice."

Moderator: The 100% refers to the fact that the drink only uses Japanese oranges and is not a blend with imports.

Mod - I knew that. My post was to inform readers who hadn't noticed what I noticed and were wondering what the actual juice content is.

Gotta brush up on my kanji to read the ingredient list. Thanks pauinusa & sarge (I didn't notice the 10% juice).

Who cares if it's 100% japanese oranges, when it's 90% sugar water?

Actually, paulinusa, 100% juice does mean that the drink as a whole is 100% juice. Except this article never said 100% juice. Still, 10% juice is better than drinking a cola.

Typical, in most countries it would not be legally called juice, as 90% of the product is something else.

does this drink cause cancer too?

"Juice" in this case is a Japanese word. It means fruit drink. There's no deception unless you assume the label was made for English speakers.

I'm going to try this drink.. curious about it.

I had it last week. Nice and bitter, it's not like what you would think an orange drink would taste like.

100% fruit juice has been a staple in healthy diets for generations. 100% juice is a nutrient-dense beverage choice that is rich in many of the nutrients found naturally in whole fruit. 100% fruit juice are a smart addition to any well-balanced diet providing vitamins and minerals like potassium, vitamin C and folate. Fruit juice is also a convenient way for adults and children to help reach the recomended number of daily servings of fruits and vegetables. Just one 250 ml (4-ounce) glass of 100% juice provides a full serving of fruit!
