Just-add-water Christmas tree

Here's a Christmas tree that grows with the help of some food additives and a dose of water. After about half a day, the tree will appear to be covered in fluffy snow thanks to a chemical reaction. The chemicals are non-toxic.

Two colors are available, with the fully grown tree reaching about 16 centimeters for the small size, or 28 cms for the large size. A “magic snowman” version is also available.

Price: 680-980 yen

So, where can we buy them?

Moderator: Try the maker Otogino whose website is listed at the end of the story, or you could try Rakuten.

Bah! Christmas day in Japan is the most miserable experience ever. Even Jeddah is more fun!

It is all commercial hype and when the day comes everybody has to work.

Off to Guam as usual for some fun in the sun for us and back on new years day when Japan is finally closed for a few days and I can actually enjoy driving around a deserted Tokyo while everybody is at their home town. Best time of the year, for me , at least!

It brings a new meaning to the phrase "like watching grass grow."

Maybe it's just mold?
