Large cans of Asahi Super Dry’s draft beer Nama Jockey coming

By grape Japan

Asahi Breweries Ltd's Asahi Super Dry Draft Jockey Can is the world's first *1 canned beer that, when opened, produces a fine foam that tastes just like a keg of beer served in a restaurant mug.

The beer was a big hit, partly because of the visual impact of the creamy bubbles that form the moment the lid is opened.

Immediately after the product went on sale, it was so popular that it was temporarily suspended because product supply could not keep up with orders.

Now, Asahi Breweries has announced that it will launch a new larger size to the Asahi Super Dry Nama Jockey Can lineup.

While the conventional Asahi Super Dry Nama Jockey Can is 340 ml, the new large can is 485 ml.

The best part of drinking draft beer from a beer mug is the exhilarating sensation of quaffing it as you feel the smooth and foamy beer go down your throat.

With this 485 ml can, you have more than enough to enjoy that just as if it were a big beer mug served in a bar or a restaurant.

In addition, Asahi Super Dry Nama Jockey 485 ml foams more than twice as fast *2 when opened compared to the 340 ml can, and the foam lasts longer.

If you chill the can thoroughly in a refrigerator before opening it, you'll have beautiful foam every time.

With Asahi Super Dry Nama Jockey, you'll not only enjoy the delicious taste of beer, but also the surprise and excitement at the moment of opening the can.

Enjoy the real taste of a draft beer that you drink at a pub or restaurant in the comfort of your home, making your evening drinking and home parties even more enjoyable!

In Japan, look for Asahi Super Dry Nama Jockey in 485 ml cans from October 25, wherever beer is sold.

*1: World's first beer in a can with a fully open lid and naturally-occurring effervescence (based on Mintel's product database and Asahi Breweries' research, October 2021)

*2: Comparison of foam generation speed at 8°C when opening a 485 ml can vs. a 340 ml can (Asahi Breweries Ltd research)

Good point, I had exactly the same experience. Opened a can and left on the table for a few seconds to find a lager volcano. Damn and blast I thought, taste was not bad but it’s rather too lovely once opened so be careful if any of you chaps purchase one of these.

The new taste is awful.

"The new taste is awful."

I agree 100%. It's the New Coke of beers. When will they learn...if it ain't broke...!

If it's Asahi Super Dry, a head of foam won't make into anything worth drinking.
