McDonald's Japan has been on quite the roll lately, dishing out Adult Cream Pies and their first ever rice burgers. but their latest release might be their most ingenious yet -- tonkatsu burgers.
Every spring, McDonald's Japan releases the teritama (a compound of teriyaki and tamago -- Japanese for egg), and this year, along with the standard teritama and teritama cheese burgers, they are offering a new teriyama tonkatsu burger. As you can guess, the usual burger patty is replaced by a big 'ol slab of teriyaki sauce slathered tonkatsu.
The new tonkatsu burger will go on sale Saturday in Japan, along with chicken wing flavored fries and the usual teritama burgers.

My Tonkatsu burger from last year might still be edible-no need to buy another this year!
