Panasonic is due to release a new 4K satellite television receiver on Nov 16. This is the first one on the domestic market that also has Blu-ray recording functionality.
It is able to display and record TV in 4K definition, with Ultra HD Blu-ray playback possible.
In addition, you can use an app on your smartphone to display TV schedules and set automatic recording of TV shows.

No doubt it is also riddled with DRM to prevent you from playing back anything you record on a different player, or making copies etc.

4K! I remember 425 line TV's by eck, those were the days, Arther Asky on a Friday night, it just goes to show how teck has come on in leaps and bounds in, not only 40 years but just a few years.
