As we head into the real heat of summer here in Japan, we’ve been preparing to hibernate indoors under the air conditioning, sitting on our Snorlax sofas playing Pokemon Sleep in our limited-edition Uniqlo Pikachu T-shirts.

But now it looks like we’ll be heading outdoors to brave the heat at least once this summer, because The Pokemon Company has just announced it will be releasing an exciting new range of Pokemon bubble teas.

Called Pokemon Meets Sweet Dynasty Hong Kong Bubble Tea Drink Bar, the new collaboration will see a range of Pokemon-themed bubble teas coming to the Sweet Dynasty restaurant chain in Japan this summer.

The lineup includes:

-- Eevee Milk Bubble Tea (540 yen)

-- Plenty of Pikachu Melon Soda Bubble Tea (648 yen)

-- Bulbasaur Matcha Bubble Tea (648 yen)

-- Pikachu Bubble Mango Smoothie Bubble Tea (756 yen)

-- Plenty of Pikachu Rainbow Soda Bubble Tea (756 yen)

-- Mew Watermelon Smoothie Bubble Tea (756 yen)

The Sweet Dynasty bubble teas are all made using original recipes, featuring hues to match the corresponding Pocket Monster from the hugely popular Pokemon franchise.

The addition of rich, flavorsome roasted tea, fruit smoothies, and sparkling sodas aim to create a cooling drink range perfect for summer.

The Pokemon bubble teas will be available at all Sweet Dynasty branches around Japan from July17 to the end of September, with a special pop-up store also selling the teas at Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C. New Hall (right across the street from Tokyo’s permanent Pokemon Cafe) from July 10-16, and then again from July 31 to Aug 13.
