Pocket Soap lets kids have fun washing hands and destroying kawaii viruses

While safety countermeasures against the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) such as masks and social distancing have become a norm for many, it can sometimes be difficult for parents to get young children to cooperate with something as simple as routinely washing their hands.

Filino Smile, a company in Japan, has now released a product that they hope can help encourage young children enjoy washing their hands with the visual aid of eliminating a virus. Their latest release, Pocket Soap, allows children to carry around an on-the-go soap visualized as a "kawaii" virus image that dissipates after 30 seconds of hand washing.

Pocket Soap comes in individually wrapped packets, making them easy to pack and carry around when on the move. They come in the design of cartoonish virus characters introduced in a for-kids educational project called "Oretachi virus", and give kids some fun motivation to properly wash their hands 30 seconds of scrubbing thoroughly causes the virus character to be "destroyed"--or dissipate.

This is a good idea but I wonder if little children think its candy and eat it.

This is a terrible idea. Firstly, children may likely eat the soap as it is so small. Secondly, there is no such thing as a kawaii virus. If any idea at all, it should be larger soap and it should be kowai. This is just stupid.

Only in Japan would someone come up with a kawaii virus.

Carrying soap?

Japan needs to come into the 21st century and have soap dispensers in schools here by law.

As a parent I have to agree. Kids will mistake this for a vitamin supplement or some form of candy and be swallowed if not careful. The idea is not a bad one. The packaging and the product presentation are bad. The concept is a good one.

We had a few kids at my school that would have eaten them.... and enjoyed it!

It’s no problem, because it’s surely made of simple and safe ingredients. Even if they eat one, they won’t do it again and not so much will happen. Btw, we had very tasty and eatable toothpaste as children and also haven’t died directly at the scene...lol Compare it with the corona vaccines discussion, where severe side effects occur but nevertheless they are advised because the advantages are significantly greater.

Your plan is to make the soap scary... so they won’t want to touch it... maybe you ought to think this idea through a little more.
