One of the best things about shopping in Japan is the chance to come across some unusual products you’d never be able to find back home. And if you’re looking for something that’s cute, compact, and affordable, you can’t go past the country’s gacha capsule toy vending machines.

These machines dispense everything from anime amulets to portable toilet washlets, but one of the most popular collections on offer is the Kawaii Kawaii Neko no Kaburimono (Cute Cute Cat Headcovers) from Japanese manufacturer Kitan Club.

Kitan Club have been making hats for cats for several years now, and pet owners around the world have been stocking up on past releases like bunny ear bonnets, bandannas, and Valentine’s Day heart hats.

What many may not know is that Kitan Club has also released official Pokemon toys in the past as well, so it was only a matter of time before they created Pokemon hats for cats.

Now your furry feline can become your favorite Pocket Monster, with six different designscoming to gacha toy vending machines around Japan in the near future.

There’s the ever-popular Pikachu, along with Eevee, Meowth (known as Nyasu in Japan), Vulpix (known as Rokon in Japan), Jigglypuff (Purin in Japan) and Snorlax (Kabigon in Japan).

With cute character ears and expressions on each cap, it’ll be hard to stop at just one, so it’s good news that each hat is reasonably priced at 400 yen.

The Pocket Monster Vol. 1 series goes on sale around the country from mid-January 2019, opening up the possibility for more Pocket Monster collections in the future.
