Pop this KitKat in the toaster oven

Nestle has a new KitKat product coming out on March 24. This one can be popped into a toaster oven for two minutes to produce a different taste.

KitKat is a hugely popular product in Japan, which is considered a “lucky” snack to eat before you do something challenging, such as sitting for an entrance exam to university or taking part in an important sporting event. “Kitto Katsu: Bet we’ll win” is the brand's catchphrase.

Nestle opened a shop called KitKat Chocolatory in Ikebukuro Seibu, which has been such a big success that some of the products are sold out within an hour.

The newest snack is KitKat Mini Yaite (Bake) Oishii (delicious) pudding-flavor. The idea of “toasting KitKat” was conceived by Yasumasa Takagi, who has been working for Nestle for 10 years to figure out the best flavors for KitKat.

He said, “I’m so glad that this brand-new product has been finally commercialized as a household product. I would like as many people as possible to get to know this delicious ‘Yaki Kitkat.’’’

The procedure is quite easy. You just put KitKats on a piece of aluminum foil and place it in a toaster oven and wait for two minutes.

Unless it's also microwavable at convenient stores, I don't think this product is going to have much success. No offense, Mr. Yasumasa Takagi, but nobody wants the extra work of putting KitKats on a piece of aluminum foil, placing it in a toaster oven and waiting for two minutes in this day and age of instant gratification.

That just shows how out of touch you are with the current generation. If you think kids won't love this, you're kidding yourself. People love a novelty, and this one will be a hit.

I wish American cared as much about KitKat as Japan does! Very intriguing products exclusive to Japan.

Lmao Japan is such a sucker for promotional campaigns. A Kit-Kat for good luck? Umm...
