Are you still writing notes and reminders on square note pads? Do you love fresh lettuce? If you're in the middle of that Venn diagram, then you may want to add this cool product to your grocery list:

Fresh from the folks at Geo Design, a Japanese design brand with a knack for food-themed stationery and household goods, this notepad looks for all the world like a head of iceberg lettuce as it might appear in a Japanese supermarket or grocery store, right down to the packaging.

Tokyo Kakeru Lettuce

「東京書けるレタス」, which could be translated as Tokyo Writeable Lettuce, is now available at the Village Vanguard Online Store.

And they really do look like a head of lettuce.

Let's do an unboxing...Beginning with the crate.

The plastic packaging is styled after similar packages you'll find on lettuce in Japanese stores.

So how do you write on lettuce? Well, you pull out a sheet. Each one is attached to the core just like a real head of lettuce.

Too wrinkled to write on? No problem. They smooth out very easily and then you can jot away.

Price: 1,058 yen (including tax)

Sheets: 40

@Luddite

Y'all just love being negative about anything and everything, huh?

Cute and interesting yet expensive and not that useful.

Consider further the plastic packaging and the extra space required to ship these compared to traditional notepaper.

1058yen for forty sheets of paper? Even printed character notepads are better value and easier to write on.

My guess? The product is simply clickbait for Geo Design to get them in the news.

I find jotting things down on my arm is a great alternative to notepads-the only downside is the limited space...
