Rechargeable battery for music devices

Sanyo Electric will sell from March 4 a rechargeable battery for music devices that drives on DC 9 volts. The battery is equipped with a high-capacity lithium-ion battery and serves as a stable power source for effectors and amplifiers. A re-usable battery for musical equipment is rare. Sanyo aims for outdoor use where there are no electrical outlets and as a battery to replace square 9V dry-cell batteries.

The product name is “eneloop music booster.” The battery has two 9V output terminals and can be used for up to 20 hours when connected to three effectors.

Retail price is expected to be approximately 10,000 yen.
