Sonny Angel is an 18-cm figurine of a young boy dressed in all kinds of cute and fantastical headgear. First released in the early 2000s, it was developed by Toru Soeya.
Soeya made Sonny Angel to be a “little boyfriend” for women in their 20s. The character’s design is said to have been inspired by Kewpie, the American cartoon. Today, over 1,300 different versions of Sonny Angel can be collected through blind boxes in 33 countries worldwide.
This latest collection by Sonny Angel is dog-themed. Using a handful of popular dog breeds, Sonny Angel is dressed up in different colors and outfits to capture the characteristics of each breed. There are nine regular figures, three lucky figures and two rare figures.
Available for ¥1,320 from September 27 online or at variety stores across Japan.

Well, I'm male and over 20. I could always use extra friends. Of course, I won't buy these. I might get my sister to get a couple of them. For herself, of course!
