Stick type 4-port USB 2.0 hub

Elecom is launching in the middle of July a stick type USB hub for adding extra ports to your PC. The U2H-SN4BF series solves the problem of not having enough USB ports when you want to connect more devices.

The new model is a compact stick type, which means it does not get in your way. It’s a bus-powered model that doesn’t require an AC adapter for charging, making it very handy. It has a cable length of 7 cm, which is ideal for use with notebook PCs. It can also be used to add extra ports to your desktop PC.

The stick has a total of four ports, three in the front and one on the side, which make it convenient to use with a wide range of USB devices. The hub is directly plugged into the PC, so no need to worry about leaving it behind or losing it. The new model is available in black and white.

Price: 685 yen.

If you have a MacBook Air, don't get this one -- there's a similar type that also incorporates an Ethernet port, which lets you use the adapter with a LAN cable.

I have had one of these for years, looks just like this except it's red and made by Arvel.

I've also had one for years and it's a very pretty blue colour.

Providing your computer's USB-port bus has enough current allowance to drive the four additional devices. I prefer a USB 3.0 hub with it's own power adaptor.

No it isn't. My notebook PCs have more than enough USB ports, 3 or 4. However, my Mac using colleagues always need to plug in dongles like this before they can start working.
