Japanese environmentally conscious outdoor gear brand, tab. has released a new, field-friendly stove “tab. Field Stove Trigon”, with the hopes of providing an eco-friendly grilling experience for campers.
Trigon was made with three primary concepts in mind; “field friendly” “useful” and “sustainable”. It is designed create no heat damage to the ground or harm to other wild creatures while we enjoy cooking and making fire in the nature.
Because of its uniquely designed structure, it not only prevents heat from radiating into the ground when in use, but also creates a reduced emission rate. This means, you will need less firewood, too.
The side panel allows you to adjust the heat level while cooking, which makes it convenient and widens the cooking variety. The top of the stove can hold up to 3 skillets. You can also use the top panel to make a bonfire, too.
The stove is made of stainless steel. It has high endurance and is easy to recycle. Each part can come apart, so you can only replace the parts you need (http://tanaka-bun.jp/tab-shop/). So, you can use this item for a long time. This new stove is not only environmentally friendly, but also sustainable, too.

Or cut an oil drum in half, punch in some holes and mount on two concrete blocks, grill on top?

Just the ticket for the backpacker....with a mule to carry it.
My old Svea stove has served me well for almost 50 years, and has never needed any part replaced in all that time!

49,000 yen? For what is bascially stamped and bent metal? Too much money.

Will have to check out their website ... maybe they sell boutique wood too.
If I ever deign to go glamping, I will send virtue smoke signals with only the best money can buy .... as a good limousine liberals should. ;-)

All nice and shiny for the advertising photo shoot. After one single use, discoloured, dirty to handle and buckled metal.
All to be thrown away in a single use.
Don't you love how $2 companies using the "$ave the Environment" spin to sell their "Recyclable" products.
Another fail when it comes to truly having little impact on the planet.

A Coleman stove is good enough for me. I could buy some pretty nice hiking boots for the price of that camp stove.

Such a pity the paradigm for camping is so heavily weighted towards... heavy stuff.
Regardless of our own means, we're pushing the planet ever further into the red.
