With the weather warming up, it is time to prepare for the rainy season coming up in June.
In Japan, umbrellas are a must. But when you share a regular umbrella with somebody else, one of you, your bags or legs definitely get wet. However, Thanko’s new umbrella – “Odemukae” – will not allow you to get wet because it’s a 1,204-mm wide umbrella for two people. One of the great things about it is that when you close the umbrella, the size is the same as a regular umbrella and you don’t look like you are carrying a big beach umbrella with you.
3 colors (wine red, blue, and light brown) are available.
Retail price: 1,980 yen
Size: length 750 mm x Width 1,204 mm (when it’s open), 440g

Not looking forward to trying to duck around those extra-wides.

I was just thinking the same thing... In these narrow streets, it's already quite a feat to get around "single" umbrellas, especially since the people using them, never seem to look where they're going...

"Odemukae will not allow you to get wet"
If it's a windy day, both people will get wet, guaranteed, even with a 1,204 mm umbrella.
"And when it's windy...?"... Mary Poppins?"
Hee hee! I was thinking the same thing!
