Waterproof, crashproof, coldproof, crushproof digital camera

The PENTAX WG-3 is waterproof up to 14 meters under water, crashproof up to a fall of 2 meters, coldproof to -10°c and crushproof to a pressure of 100kg which makes this camera your best friend for outdoor and hardcore activities.

Now, with the full-scale summer outdoor activity season upon us, Pentax Ricoh is releasing a new summer-style white color model on June 21.

Open price, but probably around 30,000 yen.

I was going to get a waterproof TG-1 but read somewhere you need to get the waterproof seals replaced every year. Anyone out there have a waterproof camera who can confirm this?

ohh, i so wish they have timeproof cameras, so that i am not lured to buy a new one every six months.

I don't have that camera, but I did buy a previous model a couple of years ago. I don't use it underwater, so I can't tell you whether or not you need to replace any seals. I will say the the photos are mediocre at best.

One thing to remember with these waterproof cameras is that for most, they are waterproof, and tough, but they are no longer waterproof after having been dropped (i.e. they survive the drop, but are no longer waterproof).

Currently on my 3rd WP camera (Panasonic x 2 and now Olympus), and the olympus is not looking too healthy (forgot to lock the battery door once when swimming. Its great taking pics underwater/ in water, but i have never had one last more than a year to find out if i need to replace the seals.

Not heatproof?

I dropped my non-waterproof, low-end Pentax in a hot spring several years ago and it's still working fine.
