Waterproof MP3 player

Sony's waterproof MP3 player has a 4 gigabyte capacity and features cordless headphones. The player is built so that the internal components are encased in a watertight compartment.

Sony says that the unit is perfect for outdoor sports enthusiasts and joggers, who can use the player without fear of sweat or sudden rain damaging it. The unit can be washed with soap and water.

Open pricing.

It is hard to sell more players on a sated marked.

No thanks, Sony is too clunky to sync with itunes. Good idea though.

You must be one sweaty person if you have to buy this.

I good idea. If the price is right, I can see this being popular for runners. I use my iPhone and am constantly worried about the weather...

I would love to have one for when I am swimming laps at the pool. I wonder if the chlorine would affect it though and how far it can transmit a signal to the headphones?

Maybe it's just the picture JT is using, but is that thing butt-ugly or what? Where is the Sony design that we used to idolize?

Sudden rain and sweat? Wahaha, someone in the marketing department must be really desperate for ideas.

About 50% of this article is not right, and the other half is missing. It doesn't feature cordless headphones because the player is actually in one of the earphones, which are connected by a fat, ummm, cord.

Look pretty good for jogging or at the gym, available in 2G or 4G models, and about the same price as an iPod shuffle, but looks like the usual Sony problem of style over substance ; clunky to use with the horrible proprietary Sony software, can't use on a mac, can't sync with iTunes, so I'm out...

(sigh ) Sony just keep getting dumber and dumber.... almost had me interested for a moment there.
