Wearable device to track your child

NTT Docomo will release a waterproof/dustproof wristwatch-style wearable device for kids - Dococchi 01 - on April 4.

It debuted at NTT Docomo's 2014-2015 winter/spring products rollout that took place last October, and we questioned whether it is too protective to use at that time.

What it can do is monitor your kid's body conditions, ambient temperature, humidity, what they are doing and where they are at the moment, and it syncs with up to 6 external devices such as smartphones and PCs. There is also functionality to help them to not get lost. If you are separated from your kid over a certain distance, Dococchi 01 will send notification to your smartphone and prevent the chance of their getting lost.

Release date: April 4 (White model), Early April (Light Blue model) Size: 44x44x15mm excluding the belt Weight: 50g including the belt

I hope on of the alarm sounds is "they mostly come out at night...mostly".

The major downside I can see for this product; is the fact that school students are forbidden from wearing watches.

I have never been told that school kids can't wear watches. I live in Yokohama. Both my kids wear them.

Or we apologise profusely and send you a trinket with our compliments.

I guess each prefecture has different rules. No watches allowed in Tochigi for students.
