Wireless pedometer

By Yoriko Takahashi

At the moment, there are quite a few fancy health-conscious wearable devices around, such as Samsung's Gear Fit, not only to keep up your health but also to be able to do many other things, for example getting emails or SNS notices.

However, some people might just simply want something to count the number of their steps and want to see the data on their iPhone. For those people, the Wireless Pedometer that is sold by Sanwa Supply could be perfect.

This 8g small wireless pedometer can be clipped on your shirt pocket, on shoe laces, etc. It pairs up with your iPhone via Bluetooth and sends the data (the number of steps, distance, the number of burned calories, and GPS information) to your iPhone on a real-time basis. Even when the Bluetooth network gets disconnected, the pedometer saves the data to itself during disconnection and then forwards it to the iPhone once the network is back.

At the same time that the wireless pedometer is connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth, your iPhone can also be paired via Bluetooth to your headset to enjoy music.

Sanwa regrettably did not get the news that there are a myriad of free or cheaper apps on the iphone that do the same thing. Why get a separate device?
