Casio Computer Co will release the SHW-1700 solar watch on June 19. The SHW-1700 is the smallest solar watch with a world time function, and features excellent usability, and superior comfort.

The SHW-1700 includes the following features:

-- World time function -- Radio wave receiver for six stations around the world to adjust to the local time -- Compact and thin case with 25.4mm diameter and 7.4mm thick -- Water resistance to ten atmospheres -- “Fine adjust bracelet” allows users to fine-tune without any tools within a maximum of 3.8mm, to add superior wearing comfort -- Graduated wind and sky-inspired watch face, minute hand featuring an airplane motif, and sunshine-themed crown

Price: 43,000 - 45,000 yen (plus tax)

Where is the solar panel?

Solar panel is just below the translucent white clock-face. Yes, white is not very good in absorbing light, but in case of a watch poor efficiency is fine, as only 1 millionth of watt is enough to run it, when e.g. sun light has hundred thousand times that power.
