If he believed most of his lies, he is an idiot. But I suspect he believed very little of it and that makes him despicable.

10 ( +17 / -7 )

Unfortunately a lot of the public in the US is more interested in consuming anything that reaffirms their beliefs than veridic things. When a news host gets into more trouble by contradicting the target audience of his program than by openly lying to them these kind of individuals are the result.

Comrade Carlson is nothing but a traitorous opportunist - someone that spewed propaganda straight from the Kremlin all for his own, and his company's profit...

He and Faux News are Putin's Fifth Column in trying to destroy our democracy - and found willing co-conspirators in the MAGA-movement...

Thank goodness for the Dominion suit and the release of the e-mails that showed he was openly lying to his audience each night - playing them for fools and suckers...

And as shown with comments on previous articles here, they still defend him...

No better example of a toxic cult...

Nice opinion piece from the far left.

-7 ( +9 / -16 )

The man lied on public TV. Good riddance.

4 ( +12 / -8 )

The AFP isn't the far left.

4 ( +11 / -7 )

Oh, look. An article filled with falsehoods complaining about alleged falsehoods.

The AFP isn't the far left.

That's right. I can respect the left. The AFP, like most corporate media, does the bidding of the state and the connected elite. If they were left, they would at least have principles.

-3 ( +8 / -11 )

It's easy to attack the source of the article without responding to the points made but if there is an article that reveals Carlson to be a fine, upstanding, sincere and committed campaigner for the unalloyed truth - and not written by him - then I would be quite happy to read it.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

Tucker was fired because he was the only one on the MSM to reveal to the public many facts that the powers that be wanted to keep secret. With BlackRock now owning 15.1% of Fox Corp (Murdoch family owns 19%), this outcome is not surprising.

-2 ( +8 / -10 )

This really tells you all you need to know about Comrade Carlson;

"The US Department of State describes Vladimir Solovyov as perhaps "the most energetic Kremlin propagandist around today." Solovyov is also, apparently, a Tucker Carlson fan. On Telegram, Solovyov says that after he learned that Carlson and his long time cable network, Fox News, were parting ways, he sent him an email.

"You have our admiration and support in any endeavor you choose for yourself next, be it running for president of the United States (which you should totally do, by the way) or making an independent media project. We'll happily offer you a job if you wish to carry on as a presenter and host!" Soloyvov also welcomed Carlson to visit Russia."

https://www.businessinsider.com/russia-to-tucker-carlson-run-for-president-visit-moscow-2023-4

Carlson is nothing but Putin's Puppet...

4 ( +12 / -8 )

How was he allowed to get away with it for so long?

4 ( +10 / -6 )

Tucker was fired because he was the only one on the MSM to reveal to the public many facts that the powers that be wanted to keep secret.

When the "facts" he presented were trivially easy to prove false, manipulated or misleading then this is not an argument, it is not even a good excuse. Most of the things he pushed could easily be proved at least baseless, and many could even be disproved with opposite evidence.

No "power that be" but simple and objective scientific evidence that he never made even an effort to discuss, if something can disprove what he said and he concedes it (by not refuting that evidence or arguments) then he is also conceding he lied.

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

People believed the Tucker lies.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

The truth will always prevail.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

Hmmm.....maybe this got Comrade Carlson fired';

"A combination of incompetent liberals and top leadership with too much pride to back down is what's happening," Carlson wrote in another message that was made public.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment/news/exposed-tucker-carlson-s-blasted-fox-execs-staff-as-incompetent-liberals-messages-fueled-decision-to-fire-anchor/ar-AA1akEJZ?cvid=5e1694f721e74ca8a6348adb34419750&ei=45

You think the Murdochs were a little teed off being called "incompetent Liberals" by one of their employees?

I'm sure all the Tucker defenders here agree - Fox is a "Liberal" network...

0 ( +7 / -7 )

The truth will always prevail.

Indeed, this is the end of Tucker on Fox, but not the end of Tucker. I am sure Tucker will continue to have many followers, whatever he does. While Fox News, without Tucker, has suddenly become even more irrelevant than CNN et al.

Anyway, as Glenn Greenwald put it:

Tucker was the cable host who most:

Opposed US proxy war in Ukraine;

Denounced CIA, FBI and DHS for its systemic lies and corruption;

Devoted himself to a pardon for Julian Assange;

Objected to regime change efforts in Cuba;

Criticized Trump Admin's militarism.

So it's not surprising Fox News had to get rid of him...

Indeed. Greenwald simply stated that Tucker opposed establishment positions that have been espoused by mainstream D & R powerbrokers alike. He's been upsetting them for a long time, and they couldn't take it any longer. The last thing the Media-Industrial-War-Pharama complex wants is for the general public to start organising against them, so Tucker had to go.

This "article" itself is nothing but an emotionally loaded compilation of claptrap written to appeal to people who share the author's position and not to convince anyone who might be sitting on the fence.

1 ( +8 / -7 )

You'd like to hope so, but will it? Small moments of satisfaction like this don't really count for much.

In this case, when the embarrassment to Murdoch became too obvious to sweep under the rug, a token gesture in the direction of decency had to be made (to con the public into thinking the Murdoch's felt some regret for the social mayhem they've sewn in the name of personal wealth and power).

But there is a big audience in the US (30-40% of voters) deluded enough to lap up all the poisonous garbage Carlson (not to mention the completely insane Greene woman) spews, meaning that yes, he WILL be back soon, and probably running for, and winning, office.

With so many people unable to tell fact from fiction, and howling for blood, desperate to repress the will of the majority, a fascist US state is still a frighteningly real possibility within the next 5-10 years. All the laughable nonsense about "far left" this or that, or "liberal" media is a smokescreen. The US press is tilted completely to the right, and has been for many decades.

Whining about an imaginary "left" gives the right wing autocrats an excuse to crack down on democratic rights/civil liberties even harder. That's been the right wing playbook at least since Reagan, and it's working folks! These days they're supported by a worryingly competent Russian online misinformation assault that is huge in scale and degree of success (as we recently learned from the documents leaked by that Air Guard kid).

Democracy in the US is in very grave danger.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

The truth will always prevail.

Indeed, this is the end of Tucker on Fox, but not the end of Tucker. I am sure Tucker will continue to have many followers, whatever he does.

You bet....just look at how popular Glenn Beck, "BillO", and Meghan Kelly are now - after they were banished and fired by Fox....

Tucker's only hope is to hire on with Sputnik or Russia Today...they're the only ones that admire his Kremlin-worshiping filth...

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

Tucker without the immediate audience of Fox will be more difficult and time-consuming for him.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

To all the Tucker haters here, do you realise that the establishment who fired him views you with utter contempt?

The powerbrokers on your "side," whether they be Democrat, Republican, Labor, Liberal, Conservative, etc. don't care about wasting your taxes on manufactured conflicts, pushing up your living costs by eroding the value of your income and savings, by poisoning you with poor-quality food and medical products of questionable safety, spying on your online activities, driving up energy costs through while interfering with stable supplies, redirecting taxes to their friends through subsidies.

Do I need to go on?

All that matters to them is power, influence, and money, and there's little they won't do to get and keep it. If they have to lie in an out daily to do so and fire people who get in their way, they'll do it. This is an element of human nature, and is a key reason why societies and civilisations rise and fall. We're on a downward slide partly because the greed of psychopaths, sociopaths, and their lackeys overcomes their better judgment that would otherwise put the brakes on to provide them with a constant but more moderate supply of what they want. But no, it's never enough. Hence the craziness we are now caught up in.

So have a good think about why you're throwing darts at Tucker instead of channeling your anger in a healthy way toward the people in power. They aren't your friends, and despite their platitudes will sacrifice you without a thought.

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

Whining about an imaginary "left" gives the right wing autocrats an excuse to crack down on democratic rights/civil liberties even harder.

This is so laughably the polar opposite of what's happening I find it hard to believe you can be serious. The US is really doomed, I am afraid

Anti-vaccine propagandist Robert F. Kennedy Jr called Carlson "breathtakingly courageous," linking his ouster to a recent monologue decrying Covid-19 jabs.

That would be Democratic presidential nominee candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

In the late 80s we had the loudmouth Morton Downey Jr. and the sensation-grabbing Geraldo Riviera.

Then in the 90s the never-progressed-beyond-age-16 Rubbish Limberger blubbered his juvenile hate crap on AM radio.

And Faux News has had Comrade Carlson, another Orwellian loudmouth who spouted nothing but lies and propaganda. With the Sinclair group ruling over most news networks and with even local news giving us 'news' like who stole Lady Caca's pooch, I quit watching news on TV long ago.

And it's high time to take down these 'Ministers of Information' for good. They've been nothing but trouble right from the start.

Mate, you're barking up the wrong tree. Save your anger for the real crooks - central bankers, the political cartel and the like. As much as you don't like the media personalities, they're not the ones making the decisions. Follow the money and the power.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

In the late 80s we had the loudmouth Morton Downey Jr.

He was not really a political Talkshow news anchor, but he was famous.

and the sensation-grabbing Geraldo Riviera.

With a lengthy news career, the guy has mile-long accolades.

Then in the 90s the never-progressed-beyond-age-16 Rubbish Limberger blubbered his juvenile hate crap on AM radio.

Sorry, Rush had one of the most significant conservative followings in the US, the guy was the undisputed champion, and liberals hated him, but then again, they hate everything anyway.

And Faux News has had Comrade Carlson, another Orwellian loudmouth who spouted nothing but lies and propaganda.

Well, that is absolutely not true, Carlson had over his career and it has been a long one the least amount of retractions over most of his competitors, he was the absolute prime-time king, and with an audience of about 3.5-4.0 nightly is not shabby at all, in fact, most networks would kill for ratings like those.

With the Sinclair group ruling over most news networks and with even local news giving us 'news' like who stole Lady Caca's pooch, I quit watching news on TV long ago.

Ok, so you are basically saying, please show a one-sided political viewpoint without the fear of it being challenged? Not a fascist way of looking at things, right?

And it's high time to take down these 'Ministers of Information' for good. They've been nothing but trouble right from the start.

So according to you and if this were your world and you could control who gets what, who is acceptable in your eye? I mean, of newsworthiness? LOL

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

The government lied and misinformed the public about Covid-19, etc. They also colluded with the CIA and FBI to discredit a political opponent. There were several news outlets in the US that peddled misinformation about each of these issues. Tucker Carlson is just one of many peddlers of untruths or flat out lies. Rachel Madow is another, Joe Biden is another...Justin Trudeau is yet another...When do they get fired?

0 ( +6 / -6 )

Told morons what they wanted to hear. Not a sincere bone in his body.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

This is so laughably the polar opposite of what's happening I find it hard to believe you can be serious. The US is really doomed, I am afraid

On your second sentence we're in agreement. Your first shows why that's the case. You think you know what's going on, but you don't have a clue.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

So have a good think about why you're throwing darts at Tucker instead of channeling your anger in a healthy way toward the people in power.

Is it one or the other? Can't we do both? I can. But Carlson took Murdoch's shilling for years and was prepared to lie and dissemble for it. He is more contemptible than Murdoch, and that is saying something.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

And Faux News has had Comrade Carlson, another Orwellian loudmouth who spouted nothing but lies and propaganda.

Well, that is absolutely not true, Carlson had over his career and it has been a long one the least amount of retractions over most of his competitors, he was the absolute prime-time king, and with an audience of about 3.5-4.0 nightly is not shabby at all, in fact, most networks would kill for ratings like those.

Try to concentrate Bass!

A: He was a liar who spouted propaganda.

B: Hey! He didn't make retractions and had good ratings!

***Response B has NO relation to point A.***

Hitler never made retractions, and his ratings were pretty damn solid too.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Anti-vaccine propagandist Robert F. Kennedy Jr called Carlson "breathtakingly courageous," linking his ouster to a recent monologue decrying Covid-19 jabs.

*That would be Democratic presidential nominee candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.*

Yeah, that would be someone with a few percent of the integrity & talent of his father trying to hitch a ride on the family name to achieve (material) "success". The American disease in action.

Bob Dylan? Amazing impact on the US & the world. Jacob Dylan? (Or was it Jakob? Ummm....)

John Lennon? Seem to have heard that he was a fair musician. Julian Lennon? Ha ha ha...

Have I made my point yet?

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Told morons what they wanted to hear. Not a sincere bone in his body.

Until he realized going forward, there is more than enough truth in what they were saying as more information was coming out, I think later he felt like a moron.

Try to concentrate Bass!

Always

A: He was a liar who spouted propaganda.

No, he believed the hype like so many then he finally woke up and dared stray from the swamp orthodoxy range.

B: Hey! He didn't make retractions and had good ratings!

Hardly.

Response B has NO relation to point A.

Hitler never made retractions, and his ratings were pretty damn solid too.

Hitler has nothing to do with Tucker, not to mention the man didn't kill 6 million innocent people, now why you even would bring that stupid correlation mix into the conversation is, to say the least, more than odd.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

That would be Democratic presidential nominee candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Being a candidate do not negate the fact that he is a well know anti-vaccine propagandist that have been found repeating false and misleading information several times.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Fox news, along with the republican party is imploding. The de facto speaker is Marj. Greene, who along with clowns like Boebert and Gaetz are pushing their party ever further right, and into unpopular battles like election denial, preventing women from receiving healthcare, anti-LGBTQ laws etc. They just continue to marginalize themselves as they pander to their extremist base and attempt to curry favor with Trump- whose personal approval and MAGA political 'movement' are at historically low approval ratings- and for whom the GOP has no viable alternative. The problem for Fox is that they've made it their brand, and now their litany of lies are being exposed, they have nowhere to run. Fox will be lucky to remain solvent as Smartmatic is suing for roughly double the amount Dominion did, and their lawyers will be delighted and emboldened by Fox's utter capitulation. It's quite possible that Bartiromo and other high profile personnel will be dumped as Fox tries desperately to stop the bleeding.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Nah. Fox News had to pay out hundreds of millions for signal boosting moronic conspiracy theories about mass election fraud.

Tucker Carlson was winding the morons up. Very immoral way to earn a living.

Nice.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

"Tucker's departure from Fox is mostly remarkable for what he was able to get away with and how long he was able to get away with it," Carusone said. "If anything, that reign illustrates how committed Fox is to lies and extremism."

A nice flamboyantly biased article, written by someone who led the Dump Trump campaign; coming from as far to the left of the rainbow as possible.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Nah. Fox News had to pay out hundreds of millions for signal boosting moronic conspiracy theories about mass election fraud.

I disagree, but that’s better for Truck now he’s free to go and say what he wants, so looking forward to him back on TV soon unrestrained

Tucker Carlson was winding the morons up.

He was definitely winding up the left, no doubt about that one.

Very immoral way to earn a living.

You could say that about a lot of people, including many current politicians.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

He has been Great Replaced.

He’ll be back

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

That would be Democratic presidential nominee candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.*

Yeah, that would be someone with a few percent of the integrity & talent of his father trying to hitch a ride on the family name to achieve (material) "success".

Yeah, that father who wanted to shut down the CIA, and was possibly killed by them.

Whose side is the CIA on now? Yours. Learn your history.

Tucker's own "private" emails admitted that he knew he was lying. He was happy to lie, for Trump, and for Putin.

Murdoch settled the Dominion case otherwise the Tucker emails would have been released.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Murdoch settled the Dominion case otherwise the Tucker emails would have been released.

Yes, FNC just can’t have their sterling reputation tarnished.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Tucker's own "private" emails admitted that he knew he was lying.

No they don't.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Tucker is still relatively young, maybe this whole Fox debacle and his 3/4 billion sacking will cause him to reflect on the years of desperately poor journalism he has produced.

He still has the years left to do something productive with his life. One must always allow a man the chance to redeem himself.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what is called a 'hit piece'.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

I miss Tucker already. One of his last and best shows was bring on the Democratic potential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Tucker is the real voice of many Americans, who tells the truth and is not afraid to challenge thoughts on what is the best for America.
