Trump?!?!?? Almost one year ago Trump's plan to deliver ‘hundreds of millions’ of Covid-19 vaccine doses by end of 2020 was highly doubted and ridiculed by the leftist media.

How is the world doing now compared to one year ago, particularly America? Thank you Donald Trump for making it possible for my entire family to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19--2 months ago!

Anyone remotely familiar with US law would know there are certain thing the federal government (civics lesson--Trump was part of the federal govt.) can do, and other things that are relegated to the powers of the states.

So, it was beyond Trump's powers to force people to wear masks in public, in restaurants, shopping centers, and so forth

Now hold on a minute. Since when did Trump recognize any limits on his Presidential powers? Since when did he ever respect the powers delegated to the states, or Congress, or anybody? When did he ever recognize or respect federal laws or the Constitution? US law means nothing to him! He refused to accept his election defeat, filed over 60 BS lawsuits and then tried to overthrow the government by rallying his Blackshirt thugs on the Capitol. He is a criminal and a traitor. Besides, if he was 'the Chosen One' (Messiah) as he claims to be, the pandemic wouldn't be such a problem - would it?

The Covid crisis in Mexico is shocking and definitely underreported in the US. As for Trump dealing effectively with the US Covid crisis, how quickly memories of his incompetence fade. He deserved to be on this list as much as Bolsonaro. Both disregarded the seriousness of the pandemic and then directly impeded their health agencies

Trump initially blocked Chinese citizens from visiting the US at the start of the crisis, but did little to monitor or detain tens of thousands of US citizens & residents returning from the Wuhan area who were already infected with Covid. His bragging that he stopped Covid at our borders from China was thus a false narrative.

Trump disregarded & even mocked urgent pleas from New York and other states last Spring as Covid hit the East Coast hard. State-level requests for release of ventilators & protective equipment from federal stockpiles went unanswered for many weeks, costing the lives of numerous healthcare workers in New York who had to re-use week-old face masks. It eventually forced states to acquire their own sources of ventilators & protective gear at higher costs—since the Trump Administration refused to get involved until much later.

Trump and his Administration deliberately interfered with federal agencies such as the CDC by trying to manipulate the weekly morbidity and mortality reports for COVID-19. His Administration wasted public funds and misdirected resources by ordering millions of doses of HCQ based on Trump’s quack endorsement of HCQ. Medical experts did not support his views and were proven correct. Meanwhile, he influenced many to rely on a worthless drug based on his own support, to the detriment of many patients.

Trump conducted numerous press conferences where he and his staff personally disdained the use of face masks by their own examples. This resulted in documented super spreader situations both inside the White House, in the Rose Garden, and at speaking (campaign) events away from DC. At his farcical press conferences, Trump continued to minimize the impact of Covid and proposed ridiculous solutions such as the use of disinfectants internally.

Operation Warp Speed was heavily promoted late last year, but turned out to be a failure from the onset. Distribution of vaccines to critical areas around the US were held up due to transportation difficulties and federal warehouse issues. The planned distribution network failed to deliver enough vaccines to many states, forcing a strict rationing until the Biden Administration took over. Trump’s own officials publicly admitted vaccine distribution was “slower than they anticipated.”

Trump failed in almost every aspect of this pandemic, period.

That’s bare of any logic and facts. As if those some persons are responsible or could have finished the pandemic alone and with another behavior or decisions. That’s simply wrong. Most other places also had and still have the virus problem and have made or still make quite deadly errors. The whole human kind on this planet has altogether badly mishandled the Covid-19 pandemic and still does. And the by far biggest and responsible ‘mishandlers’ are not even named in your listing.

The vaccinations in the US are a great success. Trump handled the covid crisis as poorly as anyone at times, but in the end, his Operation Warp Speed program turned out to be the nuclear weapons of tools used to fight the covid-19 virus with more success than any other country in the world.

Even today, there is disagreement about wearing masks in the US. Regardless, the mask issue has nothing to do with the president since the States have the power to regulate masks (as do private citizens on their property, and the federal govt. on its facilities). Trump saved millions of lives. Period.

I have no idea what that rant was about, but the fact of the matter is, and with all the pile on and big mouth criticism from the left, he was the only one in the country to put together a task force to deal with trying to find a cure and every left media outlet said it couldn't be done and he did and no one else thought about or even contemplated it, not to mention after he got it, he took it even more serious. The big mouth served him well as he had the absolute right to punch back at everyone that tossed a punch to him, something that a lot of conservatives faulted Bush for NOT doing.

In response to Jimizo and BigYen: even if we increased the number of people on the list to 20 or so, Boris Johnson would not be amongst them, in all likelihood. Granted, he made some bad calls, but the fact remains that Britain has had a pretty good response to COVID-19 overall and our vaccination drive is one of the best in the world. We're well on track to come out of lockdown by June 21st as scheduled, which few other countries can say the same about. True, there was room for improvement, but I think you'll find the same can be said of just about every leader, even in the countries that have done very well. Pretty much the only person who can't be on the list is Joe Biden. 100 million vaccinations administered in 58 days? You'll be hard pressed to beat that.

If we increased the number, you'd see countries like Japan, China, North Korea, perhaps even Norway getting ahead of Boris Johnson. He didn't make the best response, far from it, but he's a long way from being amongst the worst as well. He never denied the threat of COVID-19 as others have, he promoted social distancing, he promoted face masks, he promoted getting vaccinated. He was perhaps a little too reluctant where lockdowns were concerned but he still made the calls, unlike some other world leaders.

I think Abe would probably come in 5th. Japan's going through it's 4th wave, which just shows you how bad the response has been. Suga's not doing much better, though I can't really pin all of the blame on these two. Japan has some rather unusual legislature hanging around which has ended up making the vaccine drive very difficult to get rolling, and that really doesn't help. That Coates guy from the IOC really isn't helping matters by insisting that the Olympics should go ahead even in a state of emergency. That's not really his call to make. But yeah, Abe and Suga haven't done as much as they could have and people and businesses in Japan are paying a hefty price for it.

I disagree and although Trump, in the beginning, didn't take the virus as serious as he could have, given the fact that many of the professionals didn't take it seriously as well in the beginning just shows the lack of knowledge, Trump did and was the first leader to quickly put together a task force, that in record time which saved millions through operation warp speed. So some might think he bungled it, I don't think so given the circumstances of what we were facing, but because of his relentless efforts to push for a cure, he made up tenfold for what he got wrong in the beginning and that was his vindication, as far as the re-election was concerned there were other mitigating political factors which had less to do with the pandemic, but more with leftist ideological power control push
