That would imply a divine source to have sent it...

There does seem to be a huge number of cases growing out of religious communities of all faiths.
Time for a re-think?

Religion is so unhelpful.

I happen to be Christian although I do have belief in all faiths. That said, we need to exercise common sense, meaning that just believing is not enough. These types of pandemics are certainly not new and it seems to me that people who are properly educated, exercise caution and do their due diligence are the ones who are more like to survive. Some of it is random as we don't know a lot about how this virus really works but that is precisely why we should be cautious. Any animal that sees or senses danger will always try to get as far away from it as quickly as possible and (most) humans are no different. Would any of those leaders quoted in the article stand in front of a speeding truck barrelling down at them and expect their faith would save them? Let's see one of them willingly contract the virus and then tell the congregation they will definitely be cured. Never happen because they know it isn't going to happen. They are doing their people a huge disservice and it is one of the reasons why I don't belong to any religious organization, a church, a temple, etc (but will go into any one that will accept me as I am). It is dangerous to let anyone do your thinking for you. You have to think clearly using the resources at hand and mainly your own noggin but also pray for the best possible outcome. If your prayer isn't answered the way you want, it doesn't mean God didn't hear you.

Correction: There does seem to be a huge number of infected congregants among various faiths. Religious communities do not necessarily behave the same.
That’s a matter of opinion, not fact.
