So we are back to square one and Kim got to have his red carpet moment. Not a great result, especially for the poor sods living the dystopian nightmare.

NK should continue developing its long rang ICBM. Only when mainland US is in danger will the US citizens start taking control of their government. Part of the problem with the US is that it has never had to fight on its own land, on mainland US, so the people are brainwashed with the John Wayne movies. If US citizens are made to consider the possibility of a missile reaching NY or Washington they may consider making their politicians accountable, they may start to control the warmongering disposition of their government. The US need to accept that it is part of the globe not its master and this will only happen with  PEOPLE POWER.

North Korea and China are amassing short and medium range missiles that can be used to neutralize aircraft carrier fleets and American bases in Japan, Korea, Okinawa, and Guam. Currently, American defenses might be able to stop a couple of incoming missiles, but not hundreds. The idea is to overwhelm the defenses of nearby bases and carrier fleets, so that the Asiatic mainland cannot be attacked by tactical aircraft. No one wants a nuclear war (except maybe Trump, who is arguably crazy), but everyone wants to be able to win a conventional war.

These missiles pose little direct threat to either Korea or Japan, who have military forces strong enough to defend themselves in a conventional war, and who are currently protected against nuclear weapons by America's nuclear umbrella. However, Taiwan may soon find itself threatened by conventional forces.
