This is because the Singaporean government is one of the least selfish governments out there. Every year, the Singaporean government sets money aside in their budget to help household, workers, and then businesses in the event of a countrywide economic event or hardship.

So they are prepared for this.

Or alternatively it is because Singapore is one os the most intrusive, controlling and unfree?
