This was really inevitable. Trump was always too incompetent to be able to go through a whole presidency without doing some crime that would get himself impeached. This is just the crime they chose. He’s done countless others.

He sealed his legacy just by being himself.

He has done more than enough to deserve this permanent tag line on his presidency.

If anything you'd think Trump would be loving this, now he's on a list of only 3 presidents in history to be impeached, hundreds of years from now when the legacy of his policies are mostly forgotten, he'll still be remembered to be one of the few. For better or for worst, he's guaranteed to forever be a part of US history.

Most of us are unaware that the current occupant of the White House was a registered member of the Democratic Party for most of his adult life, and became a member of the Republican Party a few years ago.

If he had stayed in the Democratic Party, he may have been nominated and elected as a Democrat and would have started disparaging Republicans soon after being elected to the Office of President of the United States of America (POTUS).

Now, he would have been impeached by Republican Members of the U.S. House of Re- presentatives and, most likely, by the U.S. Senate.

I agree with ushosh. It's hard to talk legacy when he still has 5 years to go in office. Perhaps we can talk about the booming economy, record low unemployment, American self-sufficiency in energy, record number of federal judgeship appointments, opening talks with North Korea.....

Trump hasn't been impeached for any actual criminal offence. It's the first time that an impeachment has not included an actual criminal charge, which makes it look more like politics than anything else.

Presidents make their own legacy. Trump made this one.

Unfortunately (for Trump), this oft repeated bit of disingenuity simply isn't true. Here are (a few!) of the laws he has broken:

18 U.S. Code § 872: “Extortion by officers or employees of the United States.”

2 U.S. Code § 192, “Refusal of witness to testify or produce papers,”

18 U.S. Code § 610, “Coercion of political activity.”

18 U.S. Code § 607, “Place of solicitation,”

52 U.S. Code § 30121, “Contributions and donations by foreign nationals.”

These are just a few. I hope that now you realise that Trump DID in fact break laws, you will be prepared to reconsider your opinion. I am not holding my breath of course...

The letter, rife with exclamation points, random capitalizations and scores of grievances, portrayed the president as the victim of an unfair and politically motivated attack.

And the Democrats didn’t make their case to prove, sway or convince the public of any wrongdoing add to that, the President has the right to claim executive privilege which is also his constitutional right. As long as he can maintain the economy and the way he has been, continues to break every record and continues to focus on his agenda, impeachment won’t mean anything in the end.

It’ll be impossible to look back at this presidency and not discuss impeachment.

More Americans are against impeachment than are for it. Trump's approval is now higher than Obama's was at this time in their presidencies. USA Today poll has Trump beating every Dem candidate now.

No, he didn't. What specific law did he break? Asking a foreign leader to investigate corruption that happened to involve Quid Pro Joe Biden is not an abuse of power, it's doing his damn job.
