Is it "Happy Impeachment" or is it "Merry Impeachment?"

I don't want to offend anyone!

@Burning Bush

His supporters take it as further proof that he’s genuinely fighting the system.

Exactly.

More media propaganda, this time from the writer of this article Jonathan Lemire.

The most glaring and enduring legacy of this impeachment farce will be future generation's disbelief at how the bumbling Democrats fell all over themselves to ensure Trump's landslide re-election in 2020 by impeaching him for absolutely nothing.

Trump said impeachment would be 'a horror show' and an 'an absolute embarrassment' for Obama's legacy in 2014

This was really inevitable. Trump was always too incompetent to be able to go through a whole presidency without doing some crime that would get himself impeached. This is just the crime they chose. He’s done countless others.

He sealed his legacy just by being himself.

He has done more than enough to deserve this permanent tag line on his presidency.

“Few people in high position could have endured or passed this test,”

He is probably right. Nevertheless, 42 others passed the test. He’s one of three that failed it.

One builds their own legacy. This is his.

If anything you'd think Trump would be loving this, now he's on a list of only 3 presidents in history to be impeached, hundreds of years from now when the legacy of his policies are mostly forgotten, he'll still be remembered to be one of the few. For better or for worst, he's guaranteed to forever be a part of US history.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

It’s true! He’ll forever be the villain character. Nixon may become a footnote.

Most of us are unaware that the current occupant of the White House was a registered member of the Democratic Party for most of his adult life, and became a member of the Republican Party a few years ago.

If he had stayed in the Democratic Party, he may have been nominated and elected as a Democrat and would have started disparaging Republicans soon after being elected to the Office of President of the United States of America (POTUS).

Now, he would have been impeached by Republican Members of the U.S. House of Re- presentatives and, most likely, by the U.S. Senate.

The irony of it all.

Democrats fell all over themselves to ensure Trump's landslide re-election in 2020 by impeaching him for absolutely nothing.

they thought that also with B Clintons impeachment, next election the Dems lost to warmonger Bush

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The Republican dominated Senate wont vote for an impeachment, just a total waste of time because the Democrats cant find a credible candidate its an easy win for Trump 2020

What legacy?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I agree with ushosh. It's hard to talk legacy when he still has 5 years to go in office. Perhaps we can talk about the booming economy, record low unemployment, American self-sufficiency in energy, record number of federal judgeship appointments, opening talks with North Korea.....

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Knik, if it were that simple then you would have more bipartisan support for impeachment. The Clinton impeachment did. The sticking point is that Pres. Trump hasn't been impeached for any actual criminal offence. It's the first time that an impeachment has not included an actual criminal charge, which makes it look more like politics than anything else.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Presidents make their own legacy. Trump made this one.

Forty-one other competent presidents didn’t put themselves in this position.

45&3.

The next step regards America's legacy.

Do they have the spine to remove a corrupt President from office?

@ Attilathehungry

The sticking point is that Pres. Trump hasn't been impeached for any actual criminal offence. It's the first time that an impeachment has not included an actual criminal charge, which makes it look more like politics than anything else.

Unfortunately (for Trump), this oft repeated bit of disingenuity simply isn't true. Here are (a few!) of the laws he has broken:

18 U.S. Code § 872: “Extortion by officers or employees of the United States.”

2 U.S. Code § 192, “Refusal of witness to testify or produce papers,”

18 U.S. Code § 610, “Coercion of political activity.”

18 U.S. Code § 607, “Place of solicitation,”

52 U.S. Code § 30121, “Contributions and donations by foreign nationals.”

These are just a few. I hope that now you realise that Trump DID in fact break laws, you will be prepared to reconsider your opinion. I am not holding my breath of course...

The letter, rife with exclamation points, random capitalizations and scores of grievances, portrayed the president as the victim of an unfair and politically motivated attack.

Yup! No surprise there. That's exactly how narcissists play it. Every. Single. Time. #poorme

And the Democrats didn’t make their case to prove, sway or convince the public of any wrongdoing add to that, the President has the right to claim executive privilege which is also his constitutional right. As long as he can maintain the economy and the way he has been, continues to break every record and continues to focus on his agenda, impeachment won’t mean anything in the end.

It’ll be impossible to look back at this presidency and not discuss impeachment.

It'll be impossible not to discuss this bad joke of a House of Representatives.

Charge Pelosi, Schiff and Nadler with obstruction of justice and abuse of power.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

While the House has been busy impeaching Trump, he has been getting things done -

USMCA ( Trump was instrumental in negotiating that way before the House finally passed it )

Phase 1 of the China deal

Baghdadi is dead

NATO allies paying more

Space Force and the border wall being funded and built

Stock market at record highs, unemployment at record lows

Dozens of federal judges approved

More Americans are against impeachment than are for it. Trump's approval is now higher than Obama's was at this time in their presidencies. USA Today poll has Trump beating every Dem candidate now.

Impeachment Lite indeed.

Sung to the tune of Don't Worry Be Happy:

Here's a little song I wrote

You might want to sing it note for note

But don't worry

Still your president

In every life we have some trouble

But when you impeach me you make it double

But don't worry

Still your president

Don't worry still your president now :D

Question: The Democrats keep saying no one is above the law, not even the president. But Trump has broken no laws. Ah, no matter, just claim he's abused his power ( Riiiiiiiiight ) and obstructed Congress ( Riiiiiiiiiight ) and you can still impeach him! Yeah! That's the ticket! LOL

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

But Trump has broken no laws. Ah, no matter, just claim he's abused his power

He broke the law by abusing his power silly.

You act as if trump isn’t a crook. His legacy says otherwise.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

He broke the law by abusing his power silly.

No, he didn't. What specific law did he break? Asking a foreign leader to investigate corruption that happened to involve Quid Pro Joe Biden is not an abuse of power, it's doing his damn job.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

What specific law did he break?

2 specifically: Apportionment Authority and the Impoundment Control Act (ICA). Both laws are intended to restrict the executive branch from undermining Congress’s “power of the purse” under the Constitution. Feel free to read more about it here:

Nonsense on so many levels.

As readers here are aware, this is a daily question by the Trumpers - always provided with the applicable US Code, which they then either ignore or forget as it causes them too much cognitive dissonance....

So for about the tenth time;

52 U.S. Code 30121; Contributions and donations by foreign nationals, which prohibits "solicitation" a contribution or donation of money or other thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State, or local election.

They'll ask again tomorrow...it doesn't translate with MAGA-vision googles on....
