China's "dictatorship of the proletariat" has been co-opted by Xi, as Russia's experiment with "communism" was co-opted by Stalin. Dictators, by their nature, are opposed to dissent, even if that dissent consists of nothing more than a lonely doctor trying to tell the powers that be that a dangerous virus is on the loose, and a danger to society, when the established power structure insists that all is well, and as it should be.

Best strategy is to flee to other countries in the Commonwealth and wait out the 20 years that Mr. Wu suggests.
