No! It is not just a matter of personal freedom. It has implications for democracy itself. Allowing gambling on elections will create a strong motivation to fix elections much the way legalized sports betting has led to an increase in fixed sports events.

While gambling on election results is legal and regulated in UK, it absolutely should not be permitted in the United States. Especially with the volatile condition of the election process and politics as they already are, since Trump entered the picture.

So, it is ok for a billionaire to buy Vance a seat in the Senate, but betting on elections should be illegal? Maybe our priorities are askew.

The commission warns that misinformation and collusion is likely to happen in an attempt to move those betting markets. 

Waitasec.... haven´t we been told for 4 years now that those election are rock-solid and impervious to manipulation? And now something as trivial as betting makes them subject to manipuation? Interesting... some of those government "agencies" might want to get their narratives straight.

Lots of manipulation in sports betting. But were we not told for 4 years that such a thing could never happen in presidential elections? Which is it now?
