The author asserts that building peace requires pragmatism and patience. One could also make the argument that the absence of wide spread warfare since World War II has been the fear of mutual destruction, as well as sufficient intelligence to be willing and able to work together to avoid mutually assured destruction. By making America stupid, the current leadership is increasing the chances of a nuclear war.
