BB, read the article again. That's not always been the case, especially when the president is not white.

Maybe this article would have been useful a few years ago when Obama was damaging the world by letting Russia invade Ukraine and Syria while then helping Russia obtain US uranium companies to help build brand nukes
Andrew Crisp
DT hasn't really done anything with the Russian's apparently they discussed sending the Syrian's back to Syria now that the ISIS threat is nearly gone - the lefties won't like that they want to saturate the West with refugees

Interesting that in an article about Trump's "Russian damage," it is never once explained exactly what that damage is. In fact, nobody I have talked to can explain what the damage is. They just know they hate Trump and they hate Russia.

I don't think there was really any damage to the US. We all basically knew he was weak-kneed when it came to Putin, but it was still a surprise to see it right out there in the open. I think the only real damage is to his reputation, but it was already in the dumps anyways, this just sort of solidified it all. We don't know exactly why he behaved the way he did, it could have been any number of reasons, but none of them are good. It's not normal to be meek in front of your enemies, right after calling your allies a foe, and being rude to the queen of England, all within a few days.

As we have seen continuously for 8 years now, the congressional Republicans are DO-NOTHINGS! They are only in it for the MONEY!

There is little evidence to suggest Russia is an enemy, without stretching the definition of enemy to include just about anyone who is not an explicit ally.
Likewise, his "rudeness" to the Queen was another accusation that doesn't hold up under scrutiny. (Not to mention, it's odd for a country that fought a revolution to be free of royalty should be so obsequious towards it now.) I don't pore over every outraged article, as it's rather trivial stuff - but I did see the video where Trump committed the egregious crime of walking in front of Her Majesty. Even if one cares about such protocol, it was only for a few seconds after she gestured several times for him to go first. All that was ignored in favor of pictures that made it look like he was walking along leaving her to tail from behind.
I agree the Trump presidency is not normal. The normal presidencies have been destroying the country, so I am all for anything but normal, though I expect "normal" will once again take hold until the whole place is a shambles. Because that's what the people want.

Interfering in your elections, hacking your power systems, undermining your president. If that's an ally, then who needs enemies?
Strangerland
I get this. I've been an anitestablishmentarianist for most of my life. The difference though is that while I fully agree with your sentiment, it's clear as day to me that Trump is no the answer to the problem. He's just making things worse.

I'm no royalist, but even I know there are some special considerations that a lady in her nineties has earned, simply by hanging in there that long, Royalty has nothing to do with it.
Mmm, no, she gestured clearly 'Now we walk this way', not 'Now you walk in front of me and force me to do a quick shuffle to catch up'.
He acted like the self-centred narcissistic boor he is.

Many US allies say exactly the same about the USA. The Russians are pikers compared to the USA. Should the world treat the USA as an enemy?
You prefer the more polished self-centred narcissists I gather?
Strangerland
I'm one of them.
Trump is already treating the world as an enemy. We'd be foolish to pretend otherwise.

The answer to the problem won't be found in any president. The people need to find it. And things will continue to get worse until the pain is great enough that they do find it. In other words, there is no avoiding things getting worse - so I would rather we get through that sooner than later.
Bernie Sanders or Donald Trump - both would have helped by exposing the charade for what it is. I feel pretty certain that Trump will be followed by a Marxist/populist of some sort. Seem to be the usual course for failing nations, to swing one way then the other.
