War with Iran would be a big mistake.
It would be a big mistake for either side to start a war.

I'm sure our Saudi "allies" would love to see a war between Iran and the US. Two sets of infidels killing one another is just what they want and would save them the trouble of doing it. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the Saudis tried to covertly bomb a US ship and blame it on Iran, just to stir things up.
Remember: the Saudis still teach their children that Iranians (shia muslims) and Westerners are infidels who must be killed. The Saudis are not out allies or friends.
