Russia, with a GDP of about 1.6 trillion USD, does not have the resources to push around South Korea and Japan, if they work in unison. SK has a GDP of 1.5 trillion USD, and Japan a GDP of 4.9 trillion USD. Given that Russia is currently fighting an undeclared war with Ukraine, and has to keep a presence in Europe, the Arctic, and Asia, they are severely overstretched, and run the risk of having their vulnerability come back to bite them on the rear end.
