Combating antisemitism today: Holocaust education in the era of Twitter and TikTok

We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim.

Before taking sides, I think it's best to be informed, otherwise some may end up on the other side. I recall my son expressing disbelief about the holocaust when he was young. Not out of prejudice - simply because he couldn't believe its scale. Along the lines of, "Are you saying 6 million were killed? You must be joking." So I pointed him to photos and tales from soldiers who arrived at concentration camps at the end of the war. He started believing it happened.

I don't understand why this is continuously brought up over and over again when it has nothing to do with us? Millions of other people died, and a hell of a lot more under communism than the nazis, but we never hear anything about things like the Holodomor...

I think there's a difference. Violent horrors have occurred throughout history, but most mass killings are indiscriminate. "Kill them all" versus "Kill those who go the synagogue".

Can anyone enlighten me about the word antisemitism because recently I was name one. If you read my comment, would able you deem that anti-semitic. I am not a supporter of israel because since becoming international citizen of the world they record for harmony with their neighbours is very poor. So it that being a anti-seimitic ?

Friday was Holocaust Memorial Day and Putin shamefully stated he was protecting the Ukrainian Jews with his invasion and war. Shame on him.

FalseFlagsteve: If they don't then people will not remember the horrors human society can inflict on another. But there a level of empathy that the Jewish population place on the holocaust is more important to them than other horrors. EG The world already had a remembrance Day the 11 hour of the 11 day of the 11 month singling the ends of the 1st world war and the 10 of million that died. But Israel ignored this and created a day to the holocaust victims and name it Remembrance Day. They could call it Holocaust day. No they went with Remembrance Day and one can surmised why.

A very important topic and should be brought up and fought constantly. There’s no place for racism from any type or kind and antisemitism has shown us the darkest side of it. 6 million Jews were sent by trains to their death! How can anyone here even question the validity of this topic?? By doing that, you open a very dangerous door and make it legitimate to happen to any race, nationality or group of people. Including yours.

Whilst I applaud the sentiment (the never ending task), are they the same Russian soldiers that let the Nazis raze the Warsaw Ghetto to the ground? Wonder why they didn’t step in to help the Polish resistance?? Russia being one of the worst offenders of anti-semitism, of course. Let’s not forget the Pogroms of the 19th and early 20th Centuries.
