Though I disagree with the WHO's handling of the initial stages of the pandemic, especially with regards to what I would call questionable deference to China, I have to agree with his statement.

As long as we treat animals the way we do now, nothing will change. Swine flu, avian flu, covid-19. It won't be the last. Keeping animals in tight conditions, allowing them to rot to death, with broken bones, wasting muscle, pumped up with hormones and god knows what else is not only cruel, but a recipe for disaster, as we have experienced over and over again.
