Disney is not the one in trouble. If enforced, this will cost the taxpayers of Florida $1 BILLION in direct defaults in addition to huge sums of lost revenue.

Except, it can't be enforced, as the original contract and legislation was written to prevent this sort of temper tantrum retaliation from happening.

DeSantis, and the legislature, are going to wish they had never provoked Disney.

Anyone who has lived in Anaheim as an adult for any length of time already knew Disney is evil and Mickey Mouse is a rat. Disney tries to bully the city of Anaheim just like he tried to bully his illustrators. Why do you think Disney wanted full control of Reedy Creek? Disney even prevailed upon the city to condemn a really nice looking mobile home park that was a couple of blocks away from their "resort district", force the residents who in most cases had lived there for a couple of decades to leave (the park had been there for decades and now all of a sudden Disney wanted it gone) and level the land because in Disney's august view, a mobile home park didn't fit the image he wanted to project. It is hard to say which I dislike more, Ron DeSantis or Disney.

Disney made the choice to step into the political arena. They get to live with that choice.

Florida law saws any taxing authority, which describes Reedy Creek, that has outstanding debt cannot be disincorporated. In 2018 Reedy Creek floated utility bonds that clearly state the bonds cannot be retired until at least 2028. The state of Florida cannot retire those bonds legally and would be sued by the bondholders if they tried.

Disney is evil. I just had a son and I will do my best to not get sucked into the Disney world. I'm not worried. Never spent a dime on any Disney crap.
