If anyone needs to party I would think someone with the stresses she faces on a daily basis does!

Maybe just choose whose invited a bit more cautiously next time…

Marin, who leads the center-left Social Democratic Party, has faced a barrage of questions about the party:

I would rather have her having fun, out in the open than the hidden financial and sexual dealings of other notable oligarchs.

Judge her by her results: https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2015/11/11/9707528/finland-poverty-united-states

This story seems to trigger people on the other side of the political spectrum.

Well, it's her free time right?

So let her do what she wants, there's a lot of politicians and respective vices that can cover her place while she unstress herself, these are fail-safes of democracy right?

About maturity as some boring people gonna say judging her that she wasn't mature, living in a box doesn't seems maturity, behaving like everybody expects makes only a puppet, at least she is showing personality.

About NATO, maybe NATO won't do anything while you don't belong to their "club" but Finland has good relationship with neighbors it won't be like Ukraine if something bad happens.

She should be allowed to have fun. This does not compare with the British case of Boris Johnson partying during lockdown when it was illegal to do so.

You be stupid not to have a deso driver if your planing rave in a PM position and the opposition knows. Trying hard to discredit her. Of course drugs would be present be it alcohol or others that why one would arrange a deso driver. So what you might have a PM enjoying a line of goie or drop a few pingers or stumbling incoherent drunk. If the PM had a drinking problem of drug use problem on way she be head of a center left fractional Party. Good to see some pollies are human.

Spot on!

I have no problems with an elected official releasing some stress. I'm more worried and critical of bribes and dubious dealings and connections.

Josua Fagerholm, who works in marketing, said the episode was potentially damaging to Finland’s reputation and to the public’s confidence in Finnish politicians.

“I think it’s important for our politicians to be respectable and enjoy the trust of the public. So I don’t think it’s a good look,” he said.

Unclench dude! I had a sociology professor who I am certain would attribute a statement like that to overly severe toilet training. Unclench the sphinky and lighten up.

Of course if it had been a male, doing the exact same thing, people would have been calling for his head.

I had a sociology professor who I am certain would attribute a statement like that to overly severe toilet training.

And that's why sociology professors are amongst the least respected in the academic world.

If it had been a male PM it would have not even reached the papers.

It would have been made in every paper and MSM outlet.

the video leaked could be viewed as a judgment lapse by the prime minister in terms of the people she surrounded herself with.

“That she didn’t restrain herself in a company where she cannot trust everyone in the room,” Koivonen said. “I think that’s the main issue.”

At least someone hit the nail right on the head. Otherwise these progressives are so popular with a certain crowd that anyone questioning them are branded as ‘right wing extremists’ and discredited outright.

Let her have some fun, occasionally. It isn't like she's stopping at the pub on the way home daily for 2 hrs and 4 pints, right?

Plus, the PM isn't the same as the President. The President would deal with national emergencies, like an attack.

No big deal.

The partisans are trying to frame it as lefties supporting lefties and failing miserably. Nothing new there.

Had a good time - no problem.

Had a few drinks - no problem.

Had a dance - no problem.

Finland is not Afghanistan.

This is no big deal. It really isn’t.

The title is too general since parties can be different in nature and form... of course she has the right to party, she is a person with a free will. But. She is a PM. a PM partying like this kinda doesnt appeal to me as a trusworthy and reliable.

Redstorm

what are you trying to say? Than Im ungrateful? However I am, to all countries and nations that gave shelter to our people. My opinion of a Finish PM and gratefulness are two different things.

i dont know about the numbers of our refugees in Finland. Youd better visit official gov-tal pages to be sure.

There is nothing in the two videos that show that she was doing anything wrong.

As a younger person, she was doing what her age group does.

The only questionable part would be:

If there was an emergency, would the Prime Minster be able to handle it being drunk.

If there was an emergency, would the Prime Minster be able to handle it being drunk.

Like an emergency law or appointment? Cabinet officers handle their departments, especially during emergencies.

In a parliamentary system, the prime minister sets the national agenda, appoints cabinet officials, and governs at the behest of a party or a coalition of parties.

Based on that description, it seems that "partying" is an official duty.
