I’m still on the fence as to whether climate change is purely / strictly/ mainly a man-made phenomenon or there’s more to it, such as solar activity cycles. I believe there’s a strong political agenda behind this claim. Yes, I do think we must cut gas emissions, etc., but how much human greed is the main factor, I don’t know. Data, facts are easily manipulated. I don’t believe we’ll ever see honest figures.

I think you will. Next year, as it has been for the last few years, new record highs will be recorded. I am currently living where there should be snowfall. It is now 16 degrees Celsius. Britain is experiencing weather as never been seen before. Wild fires in Sweden. Sweden! Highest ever temperatures in Japan. Drought in Australia in the Australian winter. Greece on fire. California burning. I think we are pass the tipping point. Perhaps it is part human activity and part natural warming. But mankind makes a major mistake if they claim it is a hoax (or a Chinese hoax by way of Trump). Growing up in the south of England we were cold from November until May. Now it is t-shirts in November and bikini's in May. This is real. You don't need to see honest or official figures. Just open your eyes.

This is the heart of the matter.
How much can the ecosystem take, I wonder? Because when that damage and destruction becomes irreversible, we won't be worrying about just heatwaves any longer.

We humans need to pay attention to what is happening in the atmosphere. What we are witnessing is not caused by global warming, it is the very definition of global warming. When the entire northern part of the Earth shows unprecedented high temperatures during the northern summer, that is the definition of global warming.......the globe, aka Earth, is getting hotter.

I mean... pfft: science. Right?
I honestly think that it is the climate skeptics who have the "political (financial) agenda".
And 1glenn - well... not really. "Global warming" is a bit of a misnomer - it is climate change. In winter, we will see extreme weather too (in the other direction!).

Media exaggerating is amusing to read. Hottest in Sweden in 250 years? That implies Sweden was hotter 250 years ago. I live in southern California, the heat is annoying but hardly unusual and this is a desert. As for hottest on record, the medical warming was hotter and ice fires show the PETM period had a million years of balmy beach weather at the poles. Paris accords? Since the USA dropped out but managed to reduce, Co2 by more than everyone else and over the accords desire, while much of the rest of the world increased pollution, perhaps everyone should drop the Paris accords and just do it reducing.

Because personal anecdotes should always trump (ha!) scientific fact?
And no, "Hottest in Sweden in 250 years" merely implies since they started measuring temperatures there.
