The title indicates that the article would explain the terrible decisions made by sports organizations at the beginning of they trying to deal with trans athletes, but in fact nothing of the sort is included. Most of the problems right now come from sports authorities doing what they always tried to do, make up shoddy "scientific" reasons to justify decisions that are easy to take and pretend they are right. This did not work and a lot of rules ended up being taken down because of their basis in obviously flawed research.

Fortunately this is now being corrected and actual professionals in physiology, sports medicine, etc. Are doing an excellent job characterizing the differences and advantages between populations, so hopefully in the near future rules that actually support fairness and inclusivity will be put in order, but this comes after years of confusion and politically charged discussions that could have been saved if the right thing was done from the beginning.

This can be done with a female category – which excludes anyone with male advantage - and an inclusive, open category for anyone who wants to compete in it

I think this does indeed work, so open for all category and a female category.

This does sorta wack up the history books for males, which is somehow going to be hilarious if it doesn't somehow find a way to out right stop it dead in its tracks.

If the baby came out with a wiener, he gets to compete against other males. If born with a vagina, she gets to compete against other females.

Men are stronger, faster than women.

It's such a simple thing to understand, really.

Fair commentary. I know for sure that in my sport, tennis, the difference in level is huge, as proven by a few challenges, most recent and famous one of Williams' sisters.

But I've never understood why "sports" (I put quotation marks because not everybody considers them sports, because of less physical involvement) such as chess, pool, etc. have separate leagues for men and women?

Caster Semenya isn't trans, is she? The controversy was caused by her being born with male and female characteristics.

It’s simple make a separate sports category for the trans individuals.

This! But then, things would be fair and the trans athletes wouldn't have an advantage over female athletes so no. They don't wanna go there.

I'm torn regarding this issue. While I support people who are transgender, I do feel that they have a competitive advantage over people who are born biologically either male or female. So I don't think that they should be able to compete with them. I may be wrong and If I am correct me, but so far almost if not all trans athletes who are smashing records and dominating events, are men who have transitioned to women. I'm sure some women have transitioned and are playing male sports, but not smashing records and dominating as their female counterparts are!

Where’s the problem? The only solution instead of letting them compete under gender of birth, which somehow isn’t acceptable or draws flak, is of course separated competitions for them, like there already are for women , men and Paralympic ones for the physically or otherwise handicapped.

I believe it is imperative that sporting bodies make a decisive program that clearly defines competition....

"Competitive sports is to give full play to the athletic ability of individual or team, it. turns to be a special training and competition with the goal for outstanding achievements, breaking the record of oneself. or rival”. *

So lets confront the question at hand....

Gender Equality in Sport

Gender Equality Diversity and Inclusion Commission

A clearly defined politicized contradictory identity agenda political conundrum.

To may I suggest create, or sustain a business model for future political confrontation for profit.

We are born as female or male, that is natures deal.

Irrespective of political affiliation, our own individual wish to the sociology/distinction between sex and gender, sport defines excellence on a even field according to the equipment that nature gave us all at birth.

Lets just except that fact.

Simple solution...

Two groups.

A. Women (real women)

B. Others (men, men who want to be women, women who want to be men, men who want to be horses)

It’s simple make a separate sports category for the trans individuals.

Yes, let's start pandering to every fringe group. Trans women are exactly that. Trans...

They are NOT women. Therefore they cannot compete with women. The rest of us do not need to recognize their beliefs.
