Trump defends Sanders, stoking Democratic divisions

He’s a decent man. Trump doesn’t have one-tenth of his decency and honesty. 

From a distance, but he’ll never be President, so good on him being decent I suppose.

It’s good to have a variety of opinions in a healthy democracy. I’m on the left but it’s good to have decent and honest people on the right.

If you can have that with a liberal, it can be.

It’s trash-talking ignoramuses and pathological liars we can do without. 

Only partisans want to see uniformity of opinion.

We have a lot of those in politics.

Sanders’ campaign did not respond to questions about the favorable comments from the president and his advisers. Earlier this month, Sanders distanced himself from Trump’s assertions that Democrats were rigging the 2020 primary against him.

“His transparent attempts to divide Democrats will not work, and we are going to unite to sweep him out of the White House in November,” Sanders said in a statement.

Jeez, when someone says something favorable / helpful to you, you should say thank you.

So, if Hillary jumps in and snatches the nomination again, is Bernie going to support her again?

Trump used a similar strategy in 2016. He urged Sanders to run as an independent after Sanders fell behind Clinton in the race for delegates, which determine the Democratic nominee, and openly courted Sanders' supporters.Four years later, some of Sanders’ backers say their eyes are wide open to Trump’s strategy.

Some of Bernie's backers in 2016 are going to vote for Trump after seeing what he's got done in the last 3 years in spite of all the opposition by the otherwise do nothing Democrats.

David Riley Campbell, 23, was among the Sanders supported who didn’t back Clinton against Trump (Campbell said he didn’t vote for anyone in the general election). He said he’s learned his lesson and will be “going blue no matter who” in 2020

And this is why people like Nancy Pelosi keep getting voted back in.

Still, he acknowledged he would be “much, much less enthusiastic” about a candidate other than Sanders.

The good thing about Sanders is, after this election, he’s finished, won’t see him anymore.

trump will takes anybody sides as long as they can help him. it is just trump but if americans that do not impeach him , this action alone shows that all in americans do not have sense of justice. numbers may matter but suffering in the real sense means more to normal american peope below the rich line.

I agree on the first and disagree on the second, Trump could definitely win over Biden, especially being the gaffe machine he is, he just can’t out mouth Trump, now I will say this, if Biden were younger and maybe 8 years ago, then I do think he would definitely have a chance.

Biden is the Democratic candidate who will be hardest to beat in the real election. He is closer to the center than all the others and has a record that matters

If Biden can’t get younger people by the millions to vote for him, he just won’t make it. Enthusiasm for the guy is not there at that level like it was for his predecessor. Sanders won’t make it either way. The good thing about Sanders is, after this election, he’s finished, won’t see him anymore.
