The rioters were black people looting Foot Lockers for the latest Jordan, Wal-Mart, Target and even Apple stores. Just as they're doing now in summer 2021. I doubt any of those people looting care about the left or the right. They're thieves who would use whatever opportunity those lost in politics give them, and the big majority happen to be black.

Just like the majority of rioting Trump supporters just happen to be white.

I doubt they care about the Republican evangelical moral majority prosperity gospel agenda Trump has no moral authority.

But they are triggered by people of a different skin tone not being a permanent underclass and just happen to beCaucasian.

Yesterday, you claimed to know all about our Liverpool City and even meeting the owner of the Everton Football Club (Jimizo's team) who is a Muslim, Farhad Moshiri.

I think you claimed to know about Liverpool FC actually (my team) but if you did you would also know why we all in Liverpool think the Sun newspaper is a sewer.

I met one of the Liverpool club's owners, who is an American

.

Bet you don't know? The paper is banned from sale and even reading in our fair city.

Don't walk into a bar carrying that newspaper.

I have no problem reading what I want, as opposed to having a government tell me what I can and can't read. And I'll walk into any bar in the US carrying that paper.

The BLM protestors were protesting for BLM. The rioters were almost all right-wing subversive groups trying to make BLM look bad

Gutter press. Utter garbage.

Keep things at a hygienic level. Show some respect to fellow posters.

The walls closed in long ago on that paper as anything other than filth.

It was an insurrection.

As defined by Webster, Encyclopedia Britannica and every last word of educational reference in the world.

To deny that it was an insurrection makes that person complicit and wholly untrustworthy.

Now onward with the prosecutions and convictions.

If you could stop fighting against the CNN-addicted liberals who live only in your mind, you will find that your conversations will become much more productive.

It is a bit hysterical. It’s a bit like the John Birch Society. CNN under the beds…

A diet of Fox News seems to create this delirium.

How about the CNN link? You conveniently forget to mention that.

I don't know. I don't watch it.

Oh, so I guess you do read The Sun then, since you commented on it.

The British Sun newspaper is a sewer paper fit only for wiping......

But you claim to know so much about British culture and are especially a big fan of our footie.

The history of soccer dates back as far as 2500 B.C.

Oh sorry, there I go again narrative destroying again. How rude of me.

No, it is ok. It is difficult for non-Americans to understand the realities of US politics and protest movements, so you are forgiven.

Looters have pictured ransacking stores and clashing with police in a period of violence last June.

According to the FBI, right wing subversives.

In the Bronx many store owners woke up to broken storefronts, shattered glass and stolen goods.

That never happened.

Yeah, it did,

since you aren't American I'll give you a taste of the foreign press:

Just to understand, when BLM and other protecters burned and looted cities and people's private properties last year, in over 100 cases

That never happened.

The BLM protestors were protesting for BLM. The rioters were almost all right-wing subversive groups trying to make BLM look bad (FBI's own findings), and some left-wing extremist groups. All useless humans. But none of them BLM protestors, who were too busy protesting, to be burning and looting.

So yeah, let's try to stick to reality instead of your right wing talking points. And the reality is that both the looters and rioters during the BLM movements, as well as the Jan 6 insurrectionists, were right-wing down to nearly the last member.

these few Capitol protesters were directing their anger specifically at a government institution--an act which is a protest.

What were they 'protesting' about?

Just to understand, when BLM and other protecters burned and looted cities and people's private properties last year, in over 100 cases, the narrative was, Well, most protests are peaceful!.

So here, there were mostly peaceful protesters at the Capitol.

The ones who were not peaceful though--they weren't looting Tiffany stores, they weren'T burning Mom and Pop grocery stores, they were trampling across private citizens front lawns,---these few Capitol protesters were directing their anger specifically at a government institution--an act which is a protest.

The BLM and other protesters who burned and looted--they are just acting as criminals.

“The consequence of lying is you kind of never get back to where you were before," said Harvard historian Jill Lepore,

Thank you Jill--I understand who was and is lying.

The former Insurrectionist-in-Chief continues to lead his cult followers to the detriment and expense of We the People of the United States of America.

Enough already!

Which means the other team either plays by the rules, and loses, or plays by the other team's rules, and the country loses. Either way, the Republicans have created a lose-lose situation for their country. Which is all losers have the capacity to do.

I'm not so disheartened. The Republican Party in California used to be able to elect Governors, Attorneys General and have majorities in at least one house of the State Legislature. But during the administration of Governor Pete Wilson, they sort of went off the rails with strident anti immigrant and anti-poor policies that began to alienate many. Next they abused a provision of the California Constitution that required budgets to pass by a 2/3 majority of both houses to extort legislation that would never see the light of day otherwise. The result was long budget stand offs and government shutdowns, year, after year after year. The resulting compromise budgets were often in the red as Republicans refused to pass balanced budgets. They sincerely wanted to bankrupt the state to make a point. They compounded their problems with inflammatory rhetoric about immigrants and the poor that while it seems mild today back then it was outrageous. Eventually there was a ballot initiative to amend the State Constitution to allow budgets to pass by a simple majority like 47 other states do. Once that measure passed budgets were passed on time and balanced. In fact the state has run surpluses ever since and amassed an emergency fund well in excess of $20 billion. Today both houses of the State Legislature have Democratic supermajorities and not one statewide elected office is held by a Republican. There is an effort to recall Gov. Newsom but so far the Governor is polling well and not predicted to be recalled. Californians well remember the last time they recalled a Governor and the result was not good. I think in time we will find that the Republican Party on a national level is going to suffer the fate of the Republican party in California. Most Americans are pretty sensible and you can only be crazy so long before voters get tired of it and vote for someone competent to legislate.

America is broken. When the government officials on one side support an insurrection, and even refuse to address the fact that it was a violent attempt to overthrow the legal procedures of the USA so that their guy could stay in power, well that team isn't playing by the rules.

Which means the other team either plays by the rules, and loses, or plays by the other team's rules, and the country loses. Either way, the Republicans have created a lose-lose situation for their country. Which is all losers have the capacity to do.

Trump now states falsely, and repeatedly, that she was shot “right in the head.”

Posters here have alternated between face, neck, back etc.

First time to hear it was actually the shoulder.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Trump and many Republicans have cycled through various characterizations of the insurrection, each wholly unlike the previous one. The attackers were said to be leftist antifa followers in disguise. Then were said to be overexcited tourists. Now they are heralded as foot soldiers for freedom.

There are other parallels in the recasting of the attackers to Nazi era Germany.

Maybe they will make a Horst Wessel song about Ashli Babbit and the QAnon shaman?
