More gun deaths? Sounds gruesomely appropriate for the US.
Peter Neil
I see nothing wrong with a convicted murderer being executed in the same manner as their victim(s), e.g., stabbing, drowning, strangulation, gunshot, etc.
Cruel and unusual punishment should not be used to punish people convicted for lesser property crimes or other crimes in the US like peeing in public. For example, no whipping, starvation, housed in dungeons shacked to walls, etc.
Pre-meditated or mass murder? Execution doesn’t seem cruel or unusual.

The image of gunmen in a row firing in unison into the chest of a condemned prisoner may conjure up a less enlightened country.
I wonder what kind of person volunteers to be part of a firing squad.

That photo is unearthly, if execution is the preferred outcome then capital punishment is neatly serviced suspending the accused from the neck with a noose or ligature

Flight Deck,
the majority of countries have abolished the death penalty, or no longer use it, including 18 American states.
I have never been in favor of the death penalty.
