The concept of marriage only came about to ensure property rights were maintained. It was a legal contract that ensured that property passed from the husband to the children (generally the son).

Humans are naturally predisposed to non-monogamy on both a genetic and psychological level. It borders on irrational behaviour to deny our natures. The problem here is not "adultery" but society's vilification of non-monogamy.

As a species we have only enforced monogamy for the briefest of moments. I, for one, hope that more people become aware of this external pressure to be monogamous and free themselves to explore ethical non-monogamy.

Cheating is always bad; ethical non-monogamists can cheat. The trick is solid communication and understanding.

Thor is well known as a browser to go underground with. Nothing special there.

Stranger: Yes...auto spell got me again. :-(

I see lots of internet dating sites, and they create a lot of marriages. I have not seen any internet divorce sites yet. Will have to search that out.

Kagemusha,

Marriage means different things to different folks. For some it's about property rights. For others it's a recognition by the group of a new family. For others it's love.

Each to his/her/their own.

This is a very strange question. Even if the Internet is responsible for more marriages/divorces, then what can anyone do? Take it away?

Internet has the good, bad, and ugly. People have the freedom, the ability to choose for yourself what site to click on. So don't blame the internet if you get tempted by it. Human beings have a conscience, the inner voice or feeling that can help you know the rightness or wrongness of one's behavior and to act for yourself. In the end agency has its price. You have to pay the consequences of your choices. So if you get caught cheating it is a choice you made and you are responsible.
