I predict there will be a another global or a national disaster, a kind of natural calamity or due to the mishap of man, will happen on June 11 evening. It will be in Asia or in USA. If people do not change their view towards goodness and live for others, You will see it soon.

I wonder what Tokyo and Yokohama will look like when the big one comes....

We have not shortage of areas in North America and Mexico and South America that could produce equally damaging earth quakes. It is possible that we are entering a very active period for the so called Ring of Fire.

Just as we are entering a cycle of very damaging storms here in the United States. On the Atlantic side we have some evidence that the Gulf Stream is moving over a bit, and that can have drastic effects on both Europe and the Eastern United States.

I believe it is said of a Chinese Curse, "May you live in interesting times. We may indeed be entering such a time and a lot of assumptions about modern civilizations superiority may get a real test. We may get some interesting surprises, such as the disadvantages of having a linked world economy and having manufacturing spread over several countries.

Maybe its just me but I have always assumed the main 4 islands of Japan cud be hit anytime anywhere by a big quake & tsunami(if off the coast), thought it was common knowledge.

Yeah some try to say such & such places tend not to have big ones but all that ever meant was their last big one was a while back, there isnt a single spot on the 4main isles that gets a pass on these things!

Realmind, would you mind delaying the Big One for two weeks-- I fly out of Japan later in the month. Thanks so much.

I predict something will happen somewhere sometime. Count on it.

Oh, and live well.

My wife was watching some nonsense about cloud formations being a foolproof predictor of earthquakes. According to what she saw, there will be a huge earthquake in Kanagawa prefecture exactly two weeks yesterday. June 8th. But I'm not holding my breath. This is the woman who told me eating bananas purges the body of radiation, and that Sanma is funny.

“There are many regions for which the history of earthquake occurrence is very poorly documented,” he said. “We have a long record for Japan relative to most regions, but even there we got surprised.”

Oh brother. The subtext here seems to say that earthquake prediction is some kind of exact science, and that if we just had better documentation for 1000 years or so, we could piece it all together. Uh uh.

When he says "even there we got surprised" it makes it sound as though he should not have been or that they were "fooled" somehow.

No. Scientists are still in the guessing stage. Don't let anybody tell you different. Smorkjan ridicules the charlatans properly. Look a couple of posts up. The 'predictions' look like something you would hear from stockbrokers or rapture fanatics. Oh sure, somebody will be right about predicting something sometime, but there is no accurate model and there probably won't be for some time.

One thing the article just ricochets from might not be obvious to most readers. Japan has huge amounts of data, but it is also the world's most complex system of plate tectonics.. most probably. So finding one model that works for all of Japan is extremely unlikely. Then finding one guy who has all the answers? Forget about it. This is not an Einstein thing, this is a "cure cancer" thing that will require the efforts of thousands of people over generations.

Here is what realmind is thinking....

OK. 9/11 happened in the US in the morning. Then 3/11 happened in the afternoon. So 6/11 is coming right up, and it will be in the evening... in the US or Asia.

I have probably hit the nail on the head there. But considering time zones and dates, and the 10 year gap between the first two events and a three month gap between the second two. Why does that make sense? I don't see a model there. I see...."magic."

Realmind should be congratulated though. Isn't the prediction just as likely to be true as that of someone who put a lot more effort into developing a model incorporating religion or some kind of numerology or something? Realmind is just going full whimsy. Nothing wrong with that.

Hey, 11 11 11 is coming up. Where is the love for that auspicious date? I predict that people will make a big deal about that starting in about a month or so.

I did predict about March 11, I did know about it a year ago. If you know about Day and night, God of all and the spirit world. You can know things in advance. But nothing is here on earth as predestined. We human invite it as of our actions. This is so simple, you and me and every one can know it, see it, in advance. Think, pray and prepare, not to happen it than escape from it.

Yep, realmind, that pretty much sums up how most of us think.
