38-year-old Suraj Patel harnesses the frustration of his generation toward those who have held office for decades.
His fellow Patel’s in Gujarat were also frustrated with the politicians of their generation a few decades ago, so they brought in Modi and hopefully are now enjoying the damage their actions caused.
Hope this Stanford and Cambridge educated American born desi has something else in mind when he refers to fresh voices and ideas.

“I think the combination of him just spending all his time, every speech, relitigating 2020. Voters typically look forward. They don’t look backward,” he said.
That's not the reality.

Most of the US Patels are supporters of Modi and big time overseas fundraisers of the BJP. This is more true of the first generation immigrants who maintain close ties to their country of birth so hopefully a second generation immigrant would have developed his own independent outlook.
But I am always a bit suspicious of these people who have prospered due to the Western liberal values in their adopted nations but still support right wing bigotry in the country they or their parents came from.
