Ozawa opposes the sales tax increases for the reason that DPJ will lose landslide in the coming election by it. While the incumbent prime minister Noda is firmly determined the tax must be increased to save Japan from a debt crisis. Noda thinks it is first and foremost and he does not much care about his position as well as the future of DPJ. I support Noda.

“President Obama has to sit across the table and say to himself, how much longer is he likely to be prime minister when he gets back home. One month? Two months? Three months? No one knows,”

Sounds about right!

Japan has been rudderless for over 2decades now, and politicians have been free to ignore "laws" & toss money around where ever & collect bag loads for themselves.

What I wud love to see is teams of those forensic dudes who search houses for $$/valuables hot ALL the top level political scumbags, all parties, AT THE SAME TIME. Pile up the ca$h & jail them all, then give the lower level thieves 30days to fess up & return ill gotten gains & during those 30days start random checks on them to lite the fire of god into their thieving hearts.

Bottom line is if Japan doesnt clean out all these theiving politicians & bureaucrates the system WILL CRASH & do a Greece at some point.

But hey I know nothing will ever even be attempted & we will be stolen from right until the crash!

I agree with GW... Japan does need to clean up how they run their government... Sad to say but maybe japan needs to take a CRASH.. maybe then they will have a wake up call...

But I think I'm asking to much from the Japanese government...

prime minister’s signature policy of doubling the current five percent sales tax.

actually raise it to 15% ONLY FOR CLOTHES, JEWELRY, CARS, EVERYTHING EXCEPT FOOD & ALCHOL. CIGARETTES SHOULD GO UP TO 20%

Japanese women buy to much clothes
