The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act by the US has extraterritorial effect on US citizens. Not too worried about US citizens having a corruption problem.

Try to bribe in US soil, those people will face the Fed.
FIFA learn that hard way.

If there are problems they will probably originate in LA among some of their local political, cough cough, "leaders", development interests and perhaps some businesses looking to turn a fast buck. Those characters are always out there sadly.
The last time LA hosted the Olympics we had Peter Ueberroth leading the effort as Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee president. He ran a superb organization, there were no scandals and the city actually came out ahead financially. One hopes whomever fills those shoes for 2028 is equally competent and honest. LA does have one huge advantage over almost any other city inasmuch as it has a complete Olympic infrastructure in place and pretty much ready to go. The same dorms used for the 1984 games are still there in great shape ready to go (they are used by USC students during the school year so they are fully equipped and maintained). The only really big investment the region has to make is in transit if they really want to have a zero car games, public transit only to all Olympic events. I don't like living in LA but grudgingly admit LA knows how to get things done. I hope they pull off another model Olympic Games.

Oh, I definitely do. Wonder if Newsom will still run that state, they have 4 years to turn things around, a monumental effort of extraordinary proportions, cutting crime, cleaning up the homeless, the jobs that will come with it and the high cost of living, we shall see, I have my slight doubts. They will need a miracle.

One thing is for sure: there won't be any tributes to Tex*s barbarism in this Olympics.
