Self absorbed narcissism. When done in public it's anti-social too. So many public places have banned selfies and selfie sticks. In Iceland the selfie craze is causing damage to the environment as people clamber over sensitive areas for that 'perfect' photo.

Nothing wrong with asking someone to take your photo at some beautiful place, especially if you are with a friend or loved one.. But selfies are a different kettle of fish. Usually, they are glorified head shots that detract from the scenery by putting someone's melon in the middle of the action. Not to mention selfie takers (and their horrid tool the selfie stick) are annoying to be around as they ego their way through life.
Every time I feel depressed, I check the internet for articles about people who mess up when they take selfies- fall off cliffs and the like. Schadenfreude.

Yep, "Darwin in Action"! Gotta keep the gene pool fresh and dynamic by weeding out the useless elements.

Don't understand why people follow looking at strangers or celebrities enjoying their life when u can use that huge amount of spare time to go out and have real fun than on screen.
