You can break the cycle by breaking social media if it can't moderate itself.

A man takes a selfie with a poster of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the man that attempted to assassinate former President Donal Trump, during the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on July 17.

There is a difference between edgelordism for shock and Twitter troll comments and this:

Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, now Trump’s nominee for vice president, also implied that Biden was responsible for the attack.

Biden did point of Trump is a threat to democratic institutions, which is clear with his calls to the Proud Boys in the debate and telling his supporters on Jan. 6th to 'fight like hell".

Vance could be a better demagogue than Trump.

'fight like hell".

As usual, the disingenuous omit the "peacefully protest" bit...

These omissions are a huge reason social media is rife with misinformation

Social Media is The People.

Yes - we all know about the moguls and controllers and conspiring media - but the fact that ordinary people across the world not only have access to daily going ons - they are actively creating, contributing to and sharing those going ons.

Regardless if the material is fantasy, fake, real, part-truth, deliberate lies, informative, misconceptions or whatever, people now have power unimaginable only a generation ago.

There's no taking away that now. Even in a dystopian Orwellian commandeered society, people understand the game and won't give up participating in it, finding ways to access.

The internet/AI in it's myriad of forms is the future for better or worse. The value of currency trading - something from nothing - far exceeds the value of the # 1 commodity oil. Porn occupies 1/3 of net usage.

Try fixing all of that. Education / Control may help but the Box has long ago been prised open and putting the lid back on is probably beyond our capabilities.

Word.

A huge omission in right wing echo chambers was Biden's comment of putting Trump in the 'bullsye' , which in the wake of the assassination attempt was used as 'evidence' for Biden calling for snipers to take out Trump.

When it was clear he was referring to going into the target rich environment of Trump's rhetoric and conduct.

The mainstream media is the first to be blame, they play sides instead of staying neutral as they should. Drove ppl away to "alternative" a.k.a. social media.

The United States had, by far, the highest homicide rate of the G7 countries between 2000 and 2021.

Another potential approach is to expand civics and history lessons in school classrooms, to give students the ability to learn from the past and – we can all hope – not repeat its mistakes.

I think a better approach might be to make people more comfortable with ignorance. It seems so many people need to believe something rather than ask questions.

Biden did point of Trump is a threat to democratic institutions,

Translation: Progressive ideology, which I do agree with.

which is clear with his calls to the Proud Boys in the debate and telling his supporters on Jan. 6th to 'fight like hell".

Maxine Waters: “you chase them down wherever they go and tell them, you’re not welcome anymore”

Eric Holder: when they go low, we kick them

Biden: I would take him out behind the parking lot and beat him

DeNiro: I want to punch him in the mouth

Cori Bush: People need to take to the streets and riot if there is unrest in our lives”

In other words: the left can’t say anything when their entire supporters call for violence instead of having sincere dialogue

Vance could be a better demagogue than Trump.

Definitely a huge help to the Midwest

I see, so like when the media took out of context what Trump was saying to the Proud Boys “be peaceful, listen to law enforcement and go home” when he told them to stand down.

When it was clear he was referring to going into the target rich environment of Trump's rhetoric and conduct.

Well, both sides got it wrong, they both clarified the true meaning of their statements, moving on.

We all saw what happened last week, the shooter missed, was eliminated and Biden will be next in November of this year.

Was there a connection with the Proud Boys?

and Biden will be next in November of this year.

I don't think so because he will stand down.

Yes, he and the Dems will, exactly!

I will put it down to the heat.

I will put it past that.

As James Carville always says, “it’s the economy stupid” money is always the main driving force to push a candidate over the finish line, neither Biden or the Democrats have done this. The economy and the state it currently is, is helping Trump, bottom line. The markets know this and that’s why they’re itching for a Trump win.
